A cracking day at Auchterarder as the Seniors delivered a 7–1 win over Downfield Golf Club. Five matches went to the 17th or 18th, but the team held firm.

🔥 Highlights

• Paul Kirkwood dropped two outrageous 25‑footers to halt Grant Rounding’s pin‑seeking assault.
• Chris Hilton rolled in clutch long putts.
• Steven Bonnar fired four birdies.
• Steven McIntosh battled to the last, where John Stirk sealed it with a cool par.

Downfield loved the course, the hospitality and especially the curry with thanks to Shaun, Mandeep, Ross and Gavin.

What a fantastic day we had at Auchterarder Golf Club on Saturday 22 August, with 21 sponsor teams taking to the fairways in glorious sunshine and enjoying a great day of golf and hospitality.

🏌️AGC Seniors vs Balbirnie Park – Match Report - 25 August 2026 ⛳️

A cracking day at Auchterarder as we hosted Balbirnie Park GC, with superb weather and the course in outstanding condition. The Seniors delivered a strong performance, taking the match 5.5 – 0.5.

Huge thanks to Shaun and his team for a course that was simply outstanding, Mandeep for a top‑class meal, and Ross & Robbie for looking after everyone.

❤️ Gusty’s Heart Screening Weekend Supported by Windy Wilson Weather and Road Reports ❤️

Auchterarder Golf Club is pleased to share an important message on behalf of club member Windy Wilson and his family.

On 10th & 11th October, the annual Gusty’s Heart Screening Weekend will take place in Perth, providing FREE heart screening for young people aged 14-35.

This initiative is incredibly close to the family's heart. Young Windy underwent open heart surgery at just 14 years of age, and since then his family, friends and supporters have worked tirelessly to raise funds to help other young people access potentially life saving heart screening.

Sadly, around 12 seemingly fit and healthy young people die every week in the UK from undiagnosed heart conditions. Often there are no symptoms, no warning signs and no indication that anything is wrong.

If you have children, grandchildren, other family members or friends aged between 14 and 35, please encourage them to take advantage of this opportunity.

🥈 Juniors Golf Sixes – Silver Medalists!

Huge congratulations to our Juniors Golf Sixes team, who finished the season as silver medalists in the Golf Sixes League a brilliant achievement.

🏅 Medals were presented at the final fixture at Dunning Golf Club last Sunday, where the team were just pipped by Muckhart Golf Club. Across all five fixtures, they played superb golf and represented the club with real pride. Well done, everyone.

☀️ AGC Seniors Aberdour Away Day

A cracking sunny day at Aberdour Golf Club on Monday 10th August, with the course in superb condition including those two intimidating opening par‑3s down to the sea wall and across the bay.

With 6 pairs per side in a 4‑ball better ball format, the match was tight throughout. AGC took the first two, Aberdour hit back with three, and our final pairing Mark Geddes & Matt Stevenson battled for a brilliant win to secure a 3–3 draw.

Nearest the pin and longest drive both went to Aberdour players, who clearly enjoyed home turf.

A top‑class after‑match dinner rounded off a thoroughly enjoyable day in perfect conditions.
