Some clips from legs on Friday.

I’ve actually restructured my leg training and put squats at the end of my leg day.

Why?

Because I enjoy doing squats but I get too carried away trying to train more like a powerlifter than a bodybuilder when I squat fresh.

And my body hates me when I try to train like a powerlifter.

So for the past few weeks I’ve been back to the 8-12 rep range for squats and after not going above 5 reps on them for about a year the doms were crazy.

Exciting stuff I know.

Stay tuned for more boring lifting updates.

The work im doing now isn’t for today.

It’s not for tomorrow.

It’s not even for this year.

My next major goal isn’t actually until 2028.

That may seem miles away but in terms of building muscle naturally, it’s not that long.

A lot of people fall into a slump when it comes to gaining phases.

They get lazy.

Start to half arse training.

Diet gets sloppy.

For me, having that future goal in mind makes every day and every session currently feel like it counts towards something.

Like it’s a small piece of the bigger picture.

And that way I treat it like every day counts.

Because ultimately, they do.

When 2028 comes I’ll have done the work and all I’ll have to do is get lean and see the results for myself.

Imagine paying someone a couple hundred quid per month for a ‘tailored 1-1 service’ and getting AI feedback.

This is the world we live in folks.

The lazy coaches out there will be all over this.

If they suddenly start having perfect grammar and perfect spelling, then it’s probably time to move on.

It sound’s too good to be true.

But this could be you aswell.

See the problem is that whenever you’ve dieted in the past,

You’ve dropped a few kgs.

Feeling a bit better about yourself.

Looking leaner.

Job done right?

So slowly but surely, you fall back Into old habits.

Eyeballing your food,

Missing gym sessions,

Getting lazy with steps and cardio.

And your calorie intake is creeping up.

You keep treating yourself because ‘you’ve been doing well’.

You deserve a treat.

Ok, but here’s what me and my clients are doing instead.

Instead of thinking it’s job done, we move onto the next phase.

We gradually increase calories in a controlled manor.

More food means more energy.

More energy means better gym sessions, moving more, doing more.

So when we put the calories up, we continue burning fat.

And once we get into our muscle gaining phase,

We are starting from the leanest you’ve ever been.

You’re building muscle, lifting more, eating plenty and still looking great.

Can’t ask for much more than that can ya?

Nobody was disciplined when they were 15.

But that’s not the point.

From the first picture through to about 18/19 years old I was just your typical young lad who was living for the weekend.

When I turned 16 I did start hitting the gym but only because I seen the guys on Geordie shore going to the gym.

They seemed to get plenty of girls and so I wanted to get myself in shape for the same reason.

But other than enjoying the weekends and wanting to impress girls, I had no aims, no goals, no aspirations.

Until I found bodybuilding.

Doing my first bodybuilding prep changed my life for the better.

It taught me that I could be disciplined when I had a clear goal in mind.

And it taught me that if I do the right things day in day out, and I do them consistently for long enough that it will pay off in terms of results.

Ever since then I’ve approached everything I do the same way.

Here we are 16 years down the line working a coaching job helping other people change their body, and owning my own gym in the town I grew up in.

I’m not exactly doing anything special, but I’m certainly doing a lot better than I would do if I hadn’t done that bodybuilding prep and hadn’t learned to be disciplined.

So what’s the point of this post?

The point is that transforming your body will change your life for the better.

You’ll be disciplined.

You’ll develop a strong mindset.

You’ll feel more confident.

And you’ll look f**king great.

It’s not easy, but if you dedicate the next year to doing your very best with your training and diet, you won’t look back.
