We’re delighted to get our U11s Winter Training Programme underway, with our first batch of sessions starting this November! πŸ”΅πŸ”΄

A great opportunity for the boys to keep playing throughout the winter, develop their skills and build confidence ahead of the 2027 season.

The sessions will be delivered by Thushendra De Zoysa (Ex Blackrod Professional) and our own club coaches, giving the boys some fantastic coaching throughout the 8 week programme. A second batch of sessions will be held in the new year also.

U9s MATCH RESULT

Yesterday morning Farnworh SC invited our U9s down for a friendly. It was a game played in a fantastic spirit and a credit to both teams.

Our bowling was superb on the morning and it was great to see huge improvements and confidence growing with every wicket we took.

πŸ† PLAYERS OF THE MATCH – NOLAN, SEB & FREDDIE

Nolan and Seb were great with the ball. You won’t see too many occasions where two separate bowlers take that number of wickets in the same innings, with the majority of them clean bowled! 🎯πŸ”₯

Freddie was also deserving simply for his pure enthusiasm and love for the game. It’s fantastic to see. He listens, wants to learn and always seems to have a smile on his face – exactly what junior cricket is all about.

Another really positive morning for the boys. Plenty of improvement on show and, most importantly, they continue to enjoy their cricket together.

WEEKEND RESULTS

A tough weekend of cricket for our senior teams, with plenty at stake across all three senior fixtures.

On Saturday, our 1st XI travelled to Ribblesdale Wanderers for another important league fixture as we continue our push for promotion.

Batting first, we were dismissed for 153 before Ribblesdale successfully chased down the target, reaching 154-7 to take the points with a 3-wicket victory.

There was better news back at home where our 2nd XI welcomed Lostock. The visitors were dismissed for 182 before Atherton produced an excellent run chase, reaching 184-3 to secure an impressive 7-wicket victory.

Attention then turned to Sunday and the Hamer Cup Final, as our 1st XI took on Read at Little Lever.

Unfortunately, it wasn't to be our day. As we were bowled out for 127 before Read chased down the target for the loss of just two wickets to lift the trophy with an 8-wicket victory.

Obviously a disappointing way for the weekend to finish, but reaching the Hamer Cup Final was still a fantastic achievement from the lads and everyone involved can be proud of the cup run.

We now dust ourselves down and turn our attention back to the remaining league fixtures as we look to finish the season as strongly as possible with plenty still to play for.

FIRSTLY, TODAY…

Our 1st XI travel to Ribblesdale Wanderers for another huge league fixture as the boys look to keep our promotion push at full throttle! πŸ”₯🏏

Every game is massive now, and the lads will be looking to keep the momentum going and come home with another important result.

Meanwhile, our 2nd XI entertain Lostock at home, with a 1.00pm start, looking to get back to winning ways and continue their promotion push.
