The lads put in a great shift yesterday against Tamworth Rugby Club coming a close second! Photos from game will be posted as soon as possible.

Coach Tom Aherne takes his team the short trip to Tamworth Rugby Club to play a friendly, giving the lads the opportunity to put their hard work into practice. Mindful of the RFU's requirements given the unprecedented hot weather creating issues with pitches, we are thankful that our hosts have competed a risk assessment to ensure the ground is okay for contact - thank you. Hope to see you all over there to cheer the lads on!

Just to give you a heads up - as we are away for all of our matches up to 19th December, we have booked a coach for one of our furthest journeys. Shipston on Stour RFC have a VIP day planned for that day with both their first and second teams at home - it should be a great day! More details nearer the date when we will start taking names. It will be £5 per person (except for players, coach and physio - we thought we needed them so should let them travel free!)

We take time today to say happy birthday to our President of 15 years Vincent Mccabe - Vince was one of the first players for the Club and will often tell stories of where they used to change after games - including interrupting a wedding reception in his towel! We hope you have a fabulous day. Thank you for all that you do.🍻

Morning all - as a Club we pride ourselves on family and on making friends for life. Many of our former players are still friends today after over 50 years! As part of the family and friendship, we have been so grateful that our former players have stepped up to sponsor our current players.

This thank you goes out to Phil Mulvey, former player and coach for the Club. Phil had a really difficult period of coaching, leading the club back to playing contact rugby after Covid. During that post-Covid time we did not think we would survive however with his determination and with support from players we came through and within a few years secured promotion under his leadership as Head Coach.

He has chosen to sponsor Ben Kent who has also been part of the Club for many years, although family and work commitments meant he was not able to play for a number of years. Ben returned towards the end of last season and is looking forward to taking to the pitch with his brother Blake.

Thank you Phil for your support - hope to see you on the touch line this season

Good morning all - here we go - another thank you for another former Atherstone Player and his business. Redman Landscapes and Chris Redman have chosen to sponsor Tom Bishop who joined the club towards the end of last season.

Chris spent many years at Atherstone playing scrum half, coaching juniors and Chairing the Club among other things. A proud Welshman, rugby is very much in his blood and we know that one of his proudest moments will have been when his three sons, Lee, Andy and James, took to the park with him. Over the years Chris will undoubtedly have encountered Tom's father Nick in games against local rivals Manor Park.

Tom is no stranger to having a father who is passionate about rugby and who encouraged him to take up the sport. His own father, Nick, played for many years at Manor Park, also moving into senior positions off the pitch like Chris. Tom started his rugby career at the young age of 10. He has been working hard on his fitness and is looking forward to his first full season at the club.
