Match Report-Ashby Ivanhoe 1️⃣ v Hammers ⚒️ 5️⃣

Tonight’s match brought our pre-season to an end, and hopefully you’ll agree it’s been a really good one! 👏🏻

I’d like to thank all the lads for absolutely grafting throughout pre-season. The effort, attitude and commitment from the boys has been brilliant. 💪🏻

Tonight, the boys started slowly and it took an opposition goal to wake us up. Once Ashby scored, something clicked and we started to play our game, playing neat triangles and moving the ball superbly.

We deserved to go into half-time leading after creating so many chances, but we at least went in level thanks to a lovely finish from Freddie. ⚽️

At half-time we spoke about winning the first and second balls, upping the energy and being more aggressive, and the boys came out for the second half absolutely flying!

We quickly took the lead through another Freddie goal, which was soon followed by a lovely strike from Tyler. Tyler then grabbed his second after some fantastic build-up play and, right before the end, a fifth came after a long free kick from Jaxy nearly went all the way through, but Miles showed proper striker’s instinct to make sure it crossed the line. ⚽️

Ashby had their moments, but their fast attacking threat was nullified brilliantly by our defence, who stood strong throughout. 👏🏻

A really deserved Man of the Match for Jaxy, who was composed and solid throughout. He coped brilliantly with their main threat and used the ball really well, finding our wingers time and time again. 💪🏻👏🏻

Match Report - Hammers ⚒️ 1 v Nuneaton Boro 0

I’m honestly running out of things to say about this team. They are simply an incredible bunch of boys who never stop. They graft, they fight for one another, and they give everything from the first whistle to the last. ❤️

Today we came up against a very good Nuneaton Boro side, with a couple of familiar faces on the opposition. A big shout-out to Jakey & Charlie — I’m pretty sure they won’t have had many harder matches than the one they had today against our lot! 👏

Before the match, we asked our boys for 100% effort and to have each other’s backs — and they did exactly that, in abundance.

It was such a complete display from every single one of them, and as Coaches, we are super, super proud. They kept their discipline, worked incredibly hard, and never stopped believing.

We got the deserved win in the last few minutes thanks to a penalty after a trip in the box. ⚽️💪

I’m honestly lost for words, but absolutely full of pride.

Every single one of them was brilliant.

What a team. ❤️⚒️
