We're really excited to welcome you back to our centres when they re-open and have worked hard to make our places even safer for you. Watch the video to find...

The Committee are waiting for information from the Malden Centre with regard to returning to swim there.
As you may have heard from the Culture Secretary, Indoor pools will be able to re-open from Saturday 25th July 2020.
There will be new procedures to follow at the pool, including, we are told, arriving in your costume ready to swim. The changing rooms should be available to dry and dress after your swim, and some lockers should be available. A one way system should be in operation and social distancing should be observed at all times.
Please bring your favorite hand gel with you, it is not clear about wearing a mask at present, but may be required while not actually swimming.
Help at the poolside, you may need to have someone with you from your household "bubble" to help you in and out of the pool. Your regular club volunteer can assist with the chair operation but social distancing must be observed.
Let you know more when we know, please keep watching.
Good luck everyone
Peter & Sue ...

Sorry to say, still no sign of a swim. We just have to be patient!

14/04/2020

Sorry to say we are still not able to access the Centre to have a much needed swim! Hopefully we can all get back to our much needed exercise regime before too long?
The first swim for April would have seen the introduction of our new £2 session swim fee which was voted in at the club AGM in February 2020. Its a shame that the impact of the new funds will be lost because of the no swim situation. It is hoped the Committee might be able to make a claim to recover the grant, lost because we are denied access to the pool?
In the meantime, stay safe and as well as possible.
Best wishes,
Peter & Sue.....

Covid - 19 (Coronavirus).

The Club is following Government advice with regard to carrying on Thursday evening swimming sessions.
While swimmers wish to come swimming, the volunteers are prepared to support that. If the situation changes, then things may have to change.
Please monitor this page in case of any further developments.
Thankyou,
The Committee.

Last Thursday we held the Club AGM after the swim session. We had 12 swimmers at the meeting.
The minutes of last years meeting were read out by the Chairman and matters arising were discussed.
The minutes were approved and seconded from the floor.
Reports for the year were read by Committee members, Secretary, Treasurer, and Chief Instructor.
The outgoing Committee stepped down.
Our Treasurer, Geoff Gillies, stepped down from his position and as Committee member after many many years of volunteering for the club. His service was duly noted by the meeting.
Any other business was discussed.
The new committee was elected en-bloc. Geraldine offered to take over the Treasurers post for the time being, but there is a vacancy for the Committee if anyone from the club is interested in volunteering.
Many were surprised to hear that the club grant from Royal Borough of Kingston has been severely reduced over the last 3 years.
Along with reductions in donations, this means the club is running at a loss, but there is presently a healthy bank balance.
In order to show RBK Council that we are anxious to support ourselves, a proposal was made to raise Swim fee,s from £1 per session to £2 per session each.
A vote was passed unanimously to this end, and swim fee will rise to £2 per session from April first swim.
We could do with some help in raising donations to support the club.
As always, we are looking for people to come and help with the swimming and poolside activities. Please look us up if you fancy being a volunteer, thank you.
Thats all,
Thank you :-)

Good swim last night. The pool temperature was quite "warm" at 29.8 degrees.
The club Committee are planning a booking for the annual outing to the Pantomime at St, Jameses Church on possibly the Saturday, 28th January 2020. Should be a lot of fun, it normally is.
If you want to book a seat or two, come and have a swim and put your name on the list.
Alternatively, give the organiser, Geraldine, a call when the full details are listed on here.
Hope to see you in the water soon?
