Joel Simpson Rallying This page is to promote Joel Simpson Rallying. Follow to keep up to date during and post events! In 2019 Joel has moved up to a 1.6 Honda Civic VTI.

We have competed in a Nissan Micra K11 fitted with a 1.3 engine since 2016. Joel started rallying in 2016 with a F1000 specification Nissan Micra. His first event was the ABR Travel Services Rally at Kames where he finished 9th overall and 4th in class. From there Nick has sat in with Joel on every event.
2016 was a learning year for Joel where he was learning the limits of the car etc. so far 201

7 has been a very successful year for Joel and Nick. At the first event since installing a 1.3L engine into the micra, they would of won their class by over 2 minutes if it wasn't for a tyre coming off the wheel during a hard corner, they still finished 3rd in class which contained 1400 Lupo's. On the NHMC Warop stages, the crew were setting excellent times to the point they finished the event 30th overall and 3rd in class (containing more powerful cars).

All these people stressing that ASKMID the insurance database is down don't need to stress at all,

Well sometimes you have to take the bad times with the good.

Unfortunately this is where our Malcolm Wilson Rally ended in Grizedale Stage 5.

A rather large impact was had with a tree stump resulting in a very poorly car.

Both crew ok just very sore.
Big thanks to the rescue and recovery crews who sorted us out.

This may well be the end of the civic, but we'll see what the future holds...

Well that's the Cheviot stages over and unfortunately for us another rally of 'what could have been'.

We were sitting 2nd 1600 and 44th O/A before retiring on stage 9 due to the passenger side bottom balljoint shearing in half.

Still an enjoyable event though passing two cars in stage one and then having two big moments on stage five due to driver error 🤣.

The car will fix though and hopefully finish the year off with more success on the Grizedale stages in December.
