🌑 New Moon

There’s a New Moon in the sky this morning.

You won’t see it.

There’s no big, bright spectacle.
In fact, from the outside, it looks like there’s nothing there at all.

And I rather like that.

Because not every new beginning needs an announcement.

Sometimes change begins very quietly.

A decision you haven’t told anybody about yet.
A boundary you’re beginning to hold.
Something you’ve finally decided to let go of.
An idea that keeps nudging at you.
Or simply the feeling that you’re ready for something to be a little different.

We often think we need a huge plan before we can begin.

Perhaps we don’t.

Perhaps this New Moon is simply an invitation to ask:

What would I like to make a little more room for in my life?

Not what should I achieve, Not what needs fixing. Just… what would I like more of?

You don’t even need to know what you’re going to do about it yet.

Sometimes noticing is enough. 🌑

You’re allowed to change your mind.

About what you enjoy.
About what you want.
About how you spend your time.
About what you’re willing to tolerate.
About what feels important to you now.

Sometimes we keep doing things simply because they’ve become part of who we think we are. How often have you caught yourself thinking or saying, I’ve always done this. I’ve always been the one who. People expect me to…

But we change.

Life changes.

And something that fitted you beautifully five years ago might feel completely different today.

There’s nothing wrong with asking yourself occasionally:

Does this still fit the person I am now?

And perhaps even more importantly…

What would I choose if I were choosing from where I am today, rather than from who I used to be?

Just something to ponder over your morning cuppa. ☕️

What if your breath could do more than calm you down?

Most of us have heard of using the breath to relax.

Slow the breathing down.
Lengthen the exhale.
Take a few deep breaths.

And yes, our breath can be a beautiful way of helping the body settle.

But breathwork can also be something quite different.

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a more active practice, where we breathe in a continuous, connected rhythm for a period of time.

Rather than simply trying to relax, we give the body space to experience what arises.

People can experience it very differently. There might be emotion, physical sensations, moments of clarity, energy, deep stillness or simply the experience of being fully present with themselves.

And you don’t need to be “good” at breathing, meditation or yoga.

You just need to be curious.

I’ll be holding my next Conscious Connected Breathwork session at Linda Anslow Wellness on Monday 28th September at 7.30pm.

It’s a small, supported group with time to arrive, understand the practice, breathe and integrate afterwards.

If you’ve seen me talking about breathwork and wondered…But what actually IS it?” Maybe this is your invitation to come and experience it for yourself.

Beginners very welcome
No previous experience needed
Small, held group

Message me if you’d like to know more, or book through the link in my bio.

Last nights soundbath was a beautiful reminder that you don’t have to wait until you’re completely exhausted to give yourself permission to rest.

I think so many of us have become very good at carrying on.

We get through the list.
We look after everyone else.
We tell ourselves we’ll slow down when things are quieter…but somehow, things are never really quieter.

Sometimes rest has to be something we choose.

A class.
An hour with your phone switched off.
A walk.
A few conscious breaths.
An evening where nobody needs anything from you.

This little space was created for exactly that.

Not somewhere you need to perform, be flexible, be spiritual or have it all together. Just somewhere you can arrive exactly as you are and leave feeling so much lighter.

The feedback from last night was so positive with people saying it was ‘just what they needed, and they ‘hadn’t felt so relaxed in years’.

What would giving yourself a little more space look like this week?

If you’d like to come along to class I’d love to welcome you into the studio ♥️

🧘‍♀️Absolute Beginners Online Yoga 8 Week Course 🧘‍♀️

Have you been thinking about trying yoga, but perhaps felt a little nervous about walking into a class?

Maybe you’ve told yourself you’re not flexible enough, you wouldn’t know what you were doing, or you’d rather learn the basics first in the privacy of your own home.

This is exactly why I’ve created my new 8-week Absolute Beginners Online Yoga Course.

Starting completely from the beginning, we’ll gently build week by week learning the foundations of yoga, simple postures, breathing, relaxation and how to move in a way that feels comfortable for your body.

There’s no expectation to be flexible, fit or experienced.

You don’t even need to leave the house. 🧘‍♀️

8-week live online course
Wednesdays at 10am
Starting 21st October
Live on Zoom
Weekly recordings included, so you can catch up or practise again
ÂŁ64 for the full 8 weeks

By the end of our eight weeks, my hope is that you’ll feel more confident in your body, understand the foundations of yoga and have a simple practice you can continue at home or perhaps feel ready to join an in-person class.

This is yoga for real bodies and real life. No fancy poses. No judgement. No needing to keep up.

Just a welcoming little space to learn, move, breathe and begin.

Places are now open.

What if, for 1hr and 45 minutes, nobody needed anything from you?

No washing to put away.
No messages you need to answer.
No list of things you should be doing.
No one calling your name.

Just 1hr and 45 minutes where your only job is to receive.

That’s really what my Deep Relaxation evenings are about.

We begin with gentle, supported restorative yoga all floor based …nothing strenuous and absolutely no need to be flexible.

Then I guide you gradually into deeper rest with meditation, breath, stillness and sound.

Blankets. Bolsters. Low lights. No rushing.

And perhaps most importantly…

permission to stop.

Because sometimes an hour on the sofa isn’t quite the same as intentionally creating space for your whole system to settle.

You don’t need to be good at relaxing.
You don’t need any yoga experience.
And you definitely don’t need to arrive feeling calm. 😂

You simply arrive as you are.

Deep Relaxation at Linda Anslow Wellness

If this sounds like something you need right now, comment RELAX or message me and I’ll send you the details.

Wellbeing doesn’t have to look a certain way.

It doesn’t have to be a perfect morning routine.

It doesn’t have to mean meditating every day, doing yoga five times a week or drinking something green before 7am……let’s face it …not many of us have time for that.

Sometimes wellbeing is movement.

Sometimes it’s stillness.

Sometimes it’s being around people who make you laugh.

Sometimes it’s learning something new.

Sometimes it’s music, dancing, being outside, creating something, eating something delicious or having a really good conversation.

And sometimes it’s choosing to spend a day doing something simply because you know it will fill you up.

I think we’ve made “wellness” into another thing we’re supposed to be good at sometimes.

For me, it’s much simpler than that.

It’s getting to know yourself well enough to recognise…

What helps me feel more like me?

And then making a little more room for those things.

So that’s my Sunday question for you…

What makes you feel most like YOU?

I’d love to hear.

Have you ever noticed how sound can shift something within you? ✨

Sometimes we don’t need to talk, fix or figure anything out. Sometimes we simply need space to soften, breathe and let go.

This is a little glimpse inside a sound bath at Linda Anslow Wellness. 🤍

If you’ve never experienced one before, perhaps this is your invitation.

Have you ever noticed how quickly a sound can change how you feel? 🎶 🎼🎼

A favourite song comes on and suddenly you’re smiling.

A piece of music transports you straight back to another time in your life.

Rain against the window can make you want to curl up and get cosy.

And sometimes one unexpected noise can make your whole body tense before you’ve even had time to think about it.

We don’t just hear sound.

We experience it.

That’s one of the things I love so much about working with sound.

When I’m preparing the bowls, gong, chimes and other instruments for a Soundbath, I’m not trying to fill every moment with noise.

The quiet matters too.

The spaces between sounds.

The fading vibration of a bowl.

That moment after the gong when you can almost feel everyone in the room settle.

And no two Soundbaths are ever quite the same.

The instruments might be the same.

The room might be the same.

But we aren’t.

We arrive carrying whatever that particular day has given us.

And for a little while, there’s nothing to achieve.

You simply get to lie down…listen and receive.

I’m curious, is there a particular sound that instantly makes you feel good?

Mine might have to be the gong… although Millie snoring, snuffling and making her contented little sounds would probably be a close second. 😂
