Incredibly proud of our teams for the respect they showed Andy this morning. A lovely tribute from everyone at Tameside Stadium and Laurus. Our thoughts are with Andy’s family and everyone at Waterloo AFC 💛🖤

🛡️ Play Safe Weekend at EMJFL

This weekend, we’re backing Play Safe and its 2026 message: Keep Up The Convo.

Every child should feel safe, listened to and able to enjoy their football. That starts with the everyday conversations we have at training, on the touchline and on the way home.

Ask them what they enjoyed. Give them time to answer. If something didn’t feel right, listen and take it seriously.

To our coaches, parents, carers and spectators: the way we speak and act shapes every child’s matchday. Let’s keep our support positive, give players room to play, and make sure their voices matter.

Play Safe is a weekend reminder of something we should do all season. 💙⚽

Some brilliant moments from our U10/U11 girls this weekend ⚽️📸

Good football, big smiles and our girls enjoying every minute of it ❤️

We’re really proud of them all and loving seeing the EMGFL come to life each weekend.

Big thank you to John Raines for capturing these for us 👏

WHAT A WEEKEND 💗⚽️

This is what we wanted to see.

Girls turning up, playing football, enjoying themselves and having a league that’s there for them.

Our first weekend was brilliant, but we don’t want this to be as good as it gets. We want to keep growing, keep adding teams and give even more girls somewhere to play.

We’ve started something special, now we build on it💗⚽️

CENTRAL VENUE FOOTBALL IS BACK ⚽️

Brilliant to see our venues full of football again this morning as the 2026/27 EMJFL season gets underway.

Teams, coaches, referees and coordinators all back doing what they do best.

Great to be back 👏⚽️

REFEREES REQUIRED

We are still looking for referees for regular Saturday slots at:

Ten Acres Lane, Newton Heath
Bellevue Centre, Pink Bank Lane

Both venues host U11s 7v7 fixtures.

Despite having over 150 new referees register with us, we still need more Saturday cover at these venues.

If interested, please email [email protected]
