In view of increased prevalence of equine influenza this summer, and in line with guidance from the BHS and other event organisers, we would like to make you aware of the following new requirements for equine flu safety at WRC events moving forward:
🌟 Photos/scans of passport pages showing vaccination in the last 12 months will need to be added to HorseMonkey when you are making your booking and we will check these before the event. (It’s really quick and easy to do)
🌟 There may also be spot checks on the field so ensure you have your horse passport with you
🌟 For the safety and wellbeing of the wider equine community, unvaccinated horses will not be permitted to compete. 🌟 If you have restarted your initial vaccinations, we will need to see the first two vaccinations in your passport.
🌟 Please practice good biosecurity on site - avoid sharing water buckets/tools and graze only close to your trailer/lorry, and avoid close contact with other people's horses
🌟 Please DO NOT ATTEND if your horse is showing any symptoms of equine flu or is otherwise unwell, or if there is an active case on your yard
