What a fantastic day for Combat Base North East !
We kicked things off with some well-earned promotions, always my favourite way to start a seminar.
Huge congratulations to our 3 new black belts:
Chris Campbell, Lee Carr and Adam Raine!!
Chris and I have trained together for over 25 years, a true CBNE veteran with decades of grappling and MMA experience.
Lee, an accomplished grappler and MMA fighter too, now teaching his own No-Gi class, I am so proud of his journey.
Adam Raine, an incredibly technical, sharp, and dedicated grappler. I’ve known him since he was a kid and have always been impressed by his skill and character, I am delighted he wasn’t put off by my mischievousness and practical jokes on his first class.
All three not only train hard but teach and give back to the next generation at CBNE.
Next up was Adam Lowes earning his 1st degree on his black belt. A serial competitor who tests himself at all the major events.
Laurie Major stepped up next to receive his 2nd degree on his black belt. Still sparring hard at 61 and a Judo black belt too. A special moment for me, as Laurie’s dad was one of my first Judo coaches over 40 years ago.
We then dove into an excellent seminar with Combat Base UK founders Darren and Helen Currie, fantastic coaches and unbelievable people.
The day was made even more special by the presence of CBNE royalty, my coach Steve Muckle, whose massive early commitment made this club possible.
A huge day for the team, the club, and our community. Couldn’t be prouder
