🎱 Northumberland vs Tyne & Wear 🎱
Today's Results:
Mens A Team: 13-23 ❌️
Mens B Team: 15-21 ❌️
Mens C Team: 20-16 ✅️
Ladies: 10-18 ❌️
Seniors: 8-20 ❌️
Not the results we wanted today, but Tyne and Wear have very good teams and are a very hard team to beat.
Mens A Team:
A very tough school today against a very strong team. The team started off well taking the lead but after the first set, we found ourselves 6-3 down. As a team, we had chances to make the game much closer, but when you don't take your chances, you get punished against these top players. Going into the last set the score was 18-9 and knew that it would be very difficult, we were just trying to make a game off it and try to get as many points as possible. In the end we couldn't argue with the result as T&W played fantastic, but we can take alot of positives from today and push on from there.
Mens B team:
The B team got off to a steady start, after the first set, it was 5-4 to T&W, a few frames later, the team were winning 8-7. This carried on all the way to the final set, where T&W were leading 16-15. In the end, the lads didn't take the chances and ended up Northumberland 15 - 21 T&W, but also alot of positives the team can take into the next game.
Special mention to Kayden White winning 4/4 and Justin Minime Bainbridge winning 3/3, well done boys 💪
Mens C Team:
A great start of the season for the C team, after a nervy start, the team found themselves 5-4 up after the first set, but then went on to lose the next 4 frames, finding themselves 8-5 down. The lads ground the game out and managed to hold on and take the win.
Special mention to Jack Thompson winning and Robert Brown also winning 4/4, fantastic boys, keep it up💪.
Ladies Team:
Samantha Robinson had the pleasure of taking over the captaincy of the ladies team. Sam has done a great job of pulling the ladies together for the 26/27 season after a few of the ladies moved on to other teams. The ladies had a tough start of the season, alot of new players coming in who haven't experienced county pool before. We hope all the ladies have had a fantastic day and can take the positives out of today and become stronger as they go forward 💪.
A special mention to Samantha Robinson on winning 4/4. Well done Samantha, captain leading by example 👏.
Seniors Team:
Similar to the A team, T&W Seniors are a very strong side. After the first set, the lads found themselves 5-4 down, but after that, they only managed to win 4 of the following games. Not a lot of run for the lads, but that happens in pool. The senior team is very strong and once again, can take some positives out of today and can look forward to the next game.
Results might not have gone our way today but as a whole, it has been fantastic. Our new venue The Tute bar Linton, has went above and beyond to make today the best it could be. The staff have been incredible in Ruari Taylor Russell Taylor for getting everything set up, getting the tables reclothed, making the hall looking great with the new setup, making all the tables playing fantastic, with the support of 8 Ball Direct Alan Yates who was in at 9am cleaning and levelling the tables.
The real boss in Wendy Taylor was keeping everyone fed with hot roast sandwiches and even Sunday Dinners, which I heard were absolutely delicious 😋.
All we have had all day is compliments from everyone on how good the venue has been. We are once again, greatly chuffed to have the opportunity to play our homes game at The Tute Bar.
Once again, another big thank you to Scott Priestley who went out and bought everyone's tops for the 26/27 season, they are looking and feeling great 💪.
