Did you see the news yesterday?
That just 2 hours of strength training a week could help you live longer.

That’s it, no living in the gym or daily workouts. 🙌

For me it’s not about weight loss anymore, it’s about:

Staying strong
Having the energy to keep up
Looking after my body as I get older

I want to be there for the moments that matter, I want to live longer for that little girl in the photo.

So, I wanna be real with you…

I’m tired. Exhausted.

I went to bed too late last night because I was still fired up after some amazing sessions with the Strong Ladies Club 💪🏼. I knew I had to be up at 5:30 today… then my daughter woke up 5 times in the night 😅

Today has felt hard.

I’ve just finished bedtime and needed food before crashing into bed. I went to the cereal cupboard and thought:
‘I’ll just have this.’

But then I paused and asked myself:
‘What’s actually going to make me feel good?’
‘What’s going to nourish me more than cereal right now?’

So instead, I made an omelette.

A slightly questionable looking omelette, they have never been my strong point!
(3 golden yolk eggs, milk, feta and a side of red pepper if anyone wants the gourmet recipe)

But you know what? It nourished me far more than the cereal would have. (No food guild here, I just knew it would make me feel better than cereal)

It’s not always possible to pause and ask yourself those questions in the moment. Sometimes survival mode wins and that’s okay too.

But building that awareness little by little can make such a difference.

Some weeks are ‘let’s go smash it’

Some weeks are…
‘keep everyone alive, drink caffeine, and hope for the best’ 😂

The last few weeks have definitely been the second one for me.

Less sleep
More chaos
Zero routine
Running on caffeine and vibes, except too much caffeine gives me anxiety so just vibes here!

This is usually where people think they’ve ‘fallen off’

But you haven’t.

This is where you just strip it back to non-negotiables

Here are mine:

✨ Move your body (even 10 mins counts)
✨ Eat properly (not perfectly)
✨ Get outside / some fresh air
✨ Keep a loose structure to your day

Keep it simple, do what you can.
This is what will build results long term.
Life is always going to throw chaotic weeks at us.

You show up for everyone else.

Your kids.
Your family.
Your work.

You make sure everything gets done… even when you’re exhausted.

But when it comes to you?
That’s the first thing to go.

Not because you don’t care…
but because it feels easier to put yourself last.

Running on empty isn’t helping anyone though..
Being constantly tired, overwhelmed, and burnt out, I know that version of you doesn’t feel good.

You do deserve to feel good, feel more like you again. It doesn’t have to look perfect, it comes from small habits, structure, and making time for you.

That’s where I like to think I can help too, not just with weight training but helping you find a routine that fits your life, making sure you have time to show up for yourself. You deserve it.

December 2024, I was made redundant after 23 years in corporate.

It was a shock.
Then came the sadness of missing my colleagues… and the worry of what I was going to do next.

Luckily, I have a very supportive husband who said,
‘Just take some time and think about what you really want to do.’

So I did.

I kept coming back to the same thing…
Helping women feel better about themselves.
Actually using my personal training qualifications.

Then, in a conversation about it, someone said:
‘Why don’t you build a gym in your garden?’

And that’s when it all clicked.

Fast forward a few months… and the gym was ready.

Now I get to help women feel like themselves again.
Show them how to show up for themselves.
Help them realise they can lift weights.
And teach them about proper nutrition not just fads.

And honestly… the job satisfaction is something else.

So yes, redundancy turned out to be a bit of a blessing in disguise.

And the good thing is… I still get to catch up with my old colleagues over lunch now and again 🙂
