So, I wanna be real with you…
I’m tired. Exhausted.
I went to bed too late last night because I was still fired up after some amazing sessions with the Strong Ladies Club 💪🏼. I knew I had to be up at 5:30 today… then my daughter woke up 5 times in the night 😅
Today has felt hard.
I’ve just finished bedtime and needed food before crashing into bed. I went to the cereal cupboard and thought:
‘I’ll just have this.’
But then I paused and asked myself:
‘What’s actually going to make me feel good?’
‘What’s going to nourish me more than cereal right now?’
So instead, I made an omelette.
A slightly questionable looking omelette, they have never been my strong point!
(3 golden yolk eggs, milk, feta and a side of red pepper if anyone wants the gourmet recipe)
But you know what? It nourished me far more than the cereal would have. (No food guild here, I just knew it would make me feel better than cereal)
It’s not always possible to pause and ask yourself those questions in the moment. Sometimes survival mode wins and that’s okay too.
But building that awareness little by little can make such a difference.
