We had a great ride out on Saturday — the first of our September Ashford Discovery Rides from Victoria Park. It was lovely to see people getting out on bikes, enjoying a gentle ride and building confidence together.

We’ve still got more Saturday rides coming up, so get yourself booked on for the next one:
Saturday 12th September
Meet at 10am outside Harper’s Café, Victoria Park
The rides are free, supported, and ideal for adults and accompanied teenagers. They’ll be gentle, friendly rides of around 1–2 hours, depending on the group.

This may be of interest to some:

In 2024, Sustrans carried out an initial feasibility study for a new walking and cycling route (Route 4) connecting Ashford town centre to Repton and Victoria Park, which was identified in the Ashford Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP).

ABC and KCC have appointed Jacobs to develop and deliver a stakeholder engagement exercise to:

Understand the local sentiment for the proposed cycle route and infrastructure interventions.
Develop an understanding of any local issues that may affect the delivery and success of the project.
Understand any changes that may be needed to the Sustrans plans.

They are holding two drop-in pop-up events which you are welcome to attend at the Stour Centre, Station Road, Ashford TN23 1ET on

See the Wheel 2 Wheel Trial Display Team in action and enjoy the free pump track. We’ll also be there offering FREE BIKE CHECKS from 12–5pm—so bring your bike along and let us give it a check while you enjoy the event.
