Ashford took on Elmbridge in an afternoon game just in time for the rain to stop and the sun to shine. The lead chopped and changed a lot thoughout the game and Ashford were unlucky not to hold on in the final quarter despite some amazing interceptions and great movement down court. The game ended 42-48. A brilliant interception in the final few minutes of the game saw Ash earn player of the match, along with all her other hard work in defence throughout the game. Thank you to our supporters and scorer on the sideline for encouraging the team.

Ashford took on Focus in slippery conditions this weekend but the weather didn't dampen their spirits. In a closely fought match there were some great examples of creating space and supportive play for one another. The defence fought hard to support the attack so that they were able to feed the balls into the shooting circle, where Sharon worked incredibly hard moving around the circle and taking every opportunity to score in such a close game, earning her a well deserved player of the match. The game ended in 54-54 another high scoring match. All the ladies got to indulge in a slice of Geogia's beautifully baked cake. Thank you to our scorer and supporters for standing in the rain and cheering the team on.

First game back:
Ashford took to the court today a player down and the expectation of a tough game. The sun was shining, but the ladies knew they were going to have to work hard, with the majority not having been on the courts for 18 months.
Lacking a player made centre court challenging and turnovers seem impossible, however the centre court players continually moved into space opening up the play and moving the ball quickly down court. They provided great support around the shooting circle and superb balls into the post, where it was as if the shooters hadn't been away, allowing only two rebounds to be taken by the defence.
Ashford's defence duo maintained great pressure throughout to help keep a tight score line and consistently worked hard to bring the ball down the court after turnovers as support for the attack.
The team kept their energy levels up for the entirety of the match which ended in 57-63 to OC's, an impressive total for the first game back. A very well done to Georgia and Bex who earned a joint player of the match for their amazing efforts. It was lovely to see our supporters on the side line for which we thank you and a big thank you to our umpire and scorer. Well done ladies!!

Ashford Surrey team scored 70 against OCs who scored 23 this morning at Nonsuch school. The continuous work from the defensive end lead to several turnarounds that the team took full advantage of. There was exceptional work and timed drives down the court to get the ball swiftly into the shooters who made sure if they didn’t get it through the net they won the rebound. Terrific work all round, great support from Coach Debbie on the side and Jess who reserved. Vicky was awarded MOTM from the other team and Traci won it for Ashford. Beautiful boost to the league table well done all! 👏👏👏

Ashford B team vs Teddington Bears was the first match this morning at the home ground. The defensive team with Beck, Joy and Corrine gave a powerful performance. Sarah found herself back in C which brought the team together and Holly as wing gave some great feeds into the circle. Lisa GS got player of the match from the bears and Joy unanimously won it from the team! Well played everyone.

The Ashford A's took to the courts this morning in the last home game of the season. The ladies were against Grasshoppers and showed some great movements and amazing interceptions around the whole court. It was a feisty game but the ladies were strong and owned the court, with some fantastic balls into the shooting circle the ladies were able to take the win 46-29. With such a superb effort on court the player of the match was a three way tie, but Suzy's brilliant performance throughout the whole game saw her take home a well earned player of the match!! Thank you to all the supporters on the side line and our wonderful reserve/scorer. Well done A's!!

A great effort seen this evening by the Ashford A team who took on Fetcham in a extremely fast paced game. Although Fetcham took the lead and the game ended 62-44 the A's continued to show drive and fight throughout the whole 60 minutes. It was fantastic to see so many supporters cheering for the ladies on the sideline. Well done to Gemma who was voted player of the match as her high energy on court allowed the ball to flow swiftly and consistently provided great support around the shooting and defensive circle. A brilliant game ladies !!

Ashford A's took to the court today in a very wet and windy game against Thames Ditton. Unfortunately the ladies were unable to get into the swing of the game and it ended in a loss for the A's. However the ladies were all glad that Jo showed up in her best form and owned the defensive circle, her energy, quick reflexes and interceptions allowed for some fantastic turnover earning the team a league point. It is without a doubt that Jo's superb performance won her the player of the match from both teams. A very well done to Jo!! Thank you to our supporters Jayne and Lois who braved the wind and rain to encourage the team. The A's will take to the court again on Tuesday, please do come and support the team and cheer them on for the win.

The Ashford Surrey team played Old Reigations this windy morning. It was a fast paced game with a high score of 59-36 to Old Rs. Defence were very adaptive and switching their game play saw a significant disruption in the opposition attacking end. Gemma, C, held the mid court together with her speed and finesse while Jayne, WA, held fab space and superb feeding into the circle. Nicky constantly followed in on all shots which paid off on this windy day. Great work on centre passes and down the court Jess, WD, was always an option. Vicky, GK, was awarded MOTM, and the other team chose Traci, GA. Was fab to have the extra supporters on the sideline, thank you umpires!

A disappointing loss for Ashford Surrey’s this morning against Seymours B team. Despite fantastic turnovers and great play across court they couldn’t get back from the 3 goal difference after the 1st quarter. The 3rd and 4th quarter were their strongest showing they weren’t giving up but it just wasn’t quite enough. A well deserved MOTM went to Sarah Lee in WD and Gemma, C was awarded the title from the opposition. Thank you scorers and umpires 🙂

Ashford B team took on Grasshoppers this afternoon as the windy conditions persisted. Unfortunately defeated by 2 goals in the end they showed some super team work. Interceptions were being made all over the court as the defence worked tirelessly to turnover ball possession. Mid-court worked with short sharp passes to get through the wind and the lovely Lisa shot some magnificent goals earning herself player of the match. Thank you to our supporters & umpires who managed not to blow away on the sideline. 🤣

The Ashford A team took on Teddington Swans this morning in what was a very windy and sunny game, making the shooters work extra hard in the circle. It was a close four quarters but the ladies were hungry for the win, interceptions were made and rebounds were won in defence, with the wind behind the ladies the ball flew down the centre court and the team were able to take the lead in Q3 and end the game with a win of 34-29. A very well done to Jo who's amazing interceptions and hustle in defence earned her the player of the match. A big thank you to the supporters on the sideline for standing in the wind and cheering the team on. Well done ladies !!
