After noticing the large number of cyclists using the quiet lane at the front of the farm, we decided to open a field for 28days this summer, to create a cycle friendly campsite for people to pitch their tents. Kent Cycle Camping will be a dedicated camp site for all those cycling lovers."Flat for miles and miles but plenty of hills if that's your style" is the tag line for the site. We would like
to encourage families, clubs and groups to stay whilst enjoying the cycling on our doorstep. For approximately 16miles in one direction the land is virtually flat, whilst 2miles in another direction the Hills leading to the North Downs start. Bedgebury Forest and Bewl Water to the South, the North Downs Way along with the Crab and Winkle Way to the North. There are lots of great publications on the market detailing cycle routes in Kent many of which pass close to the farm. Burnt House Farm is set in fourteen acres of Kent countryside near Smarden. We are opening a four acre field for 28days this year from the 21st-23rd July and from 21st July to14th August. We can only cater for campers with tents and are planning to design the site to meet these requirements. We will have dry bike storage and a cleaning area, a clothes drying area, regular family ride outs, toilets and showers, a small shop, regular BBQ's with local produce, fire pits to hire, eco car-free camping area, on-site car parking and on-site sporting activities. In 2015 Lonely Planet voted Kent the best family destination in Europe with clean beaches, eight major castles, fantastic walks, wildlife parks and quaint pubs. So when you are not in the saddle there are still plenty of things to entertain. Prices will be £10 per adult per night and £2 per child per night (16 and under) Minimum two night stay period.
