“I have tried everything and nothing works”

…..hold my beer 😂

This is something that Rosie said to me on our initial call

She fell deeper and deeper into a body she didn’t like

She would avoid mirrors at the nick because she hated the person staring back

And had the low confidence to go with it

The type that the wrong uns can read in a second when you turn up to a job

And take the p**s out of

Not only that

She thought she a hopeless case not only because she suffers from endometriosis

Listening to the babble of others and s**te online about how “you can’t lose weight”

It’s a load of tosh and Rosie is living proof of that

But signing up with me is where it all changed.

She knew that weight loss wasn’t beyond her

She just needed the right support from a coach that could get the best out of her

She got a lot out of the catch up calls and weekly check ins

Because this not only gave her guidance for the week ahead but she also realised what she was capable of achieving

That’s what training consistently and losing 42 pounds (3 stone) will do

Rebecca is honestly a machine

She works as a special and holds down two other jobs and has kids

So if you’re sitting there saying I don’t have the time because of

❌ Shifts

❌Kids

❌Insert any other s**tty excuse here

Then that’s what they are…..excuses

Yes you may get held on late, have a s**t shift, have your rest days cancelled

So has Rebecca

But how???

Same weight….different body composition

These pictures were taken 3 years apart.

Shaun is working as a paramedic in both of these pictures

The difference?

The one on the left was when he tried to do it by himself…….

Imagine trying to fix your car over hiring a mechanic….thats basically what you’re doing…

He failed to keep it up not long after this photo

The downloadable programme just didn’t fit his lifestyle or shifts

He couldn’t keep up with the boring meal plan…..he missed meals due to dealing with patients and felt like he failed.

And he missed eating foods that he actually liked (dry ass chicken and rice makes you want to stab yourself in the eye with a fork after a while)

The long gym sessions that he just couldn’t fit in after working 12 hour shifts and being knackered.

The endless cardio sessions on a stair master that he kept on missing

Going into work with his head down because being a paramedic was getting in the way of the person that he wanted to be

Imagine that….a job that you’ve worked so hard to get is the reason you’re not in shape anymore.

Going from loving who you are in the mirror and feeling proud in that kit to feeling like a s**tty marshmallow.

Well that was until I came along and changed all of that for him

Getting him the results that he wanted

Shaun has been through a cut and a gain since being with me.

✅He trains 3 times a week week for 45 minutes to an hour

✅He doesn’t follow a boring ass meal plan

✅His focus is on steps and not some s**tty stairmaster

He goes into work with his head held high because his job is no longer hindering him

His strength has gone through the roof

He doesn’t get puffed reaching the top of 3 flights of stairs and need to put the defib on him and not the patient.

Very proud of this transformation right here because I know how hard Shaun works

Avoidance is an evil word

‘Frustrated that I didn’t start coaching with you sooner’

That’s often said to me

Because people don’t want to accept that things need to change

How long will it be avoiding the mirrors in the nick?

Hiding in the toilet to get changed instead of in the locker room

Constantly pulling your t shirt out of your rolls

Making excuses that you can’t afford it when you’ll happily s***k £10 a day at the garage on car sweets and monsters

That’s until something huge happens…..

Like your health declines and you might never see your family or kids again

Like you getting your oppo seriously hurt at work when it’s something that could have been avoided

This is in your hands and your hands alone

I’ve helped 100’s of shift workers improve not only their physical ability

This is the real world…

I want you to picture this scenario in your head

You and your oppo are toe to toe with a bad man

You take control of an arm

But instead of restraining the bad man

You get thrown about a rag doll

Scared because you’re hanging out your hoop, weak as p**s, feeling like you’ve let your oppo down

But actually you’ve done more than let your oppo down. They’ve got their head kicked in and ended up in hospital.

This isn’t just a story…..this is reality

When are you actually going to take your job seriously?

It’s real life with real nasty f**kers that want to hurt you.

Going home safe at the end of everyday is my priority

If you’re sitting there saying ‘but I’m a short person’, ‘but I’m a girl’, ‘I’ve never had muscles’

They are all excuses.

Im 5’1 and a female and I’ve put fully grown guys in their arse and I would never give up in a roll around

So these are all excuses you can do something about.

If you’re not prepared to do anything about them then you belong in a f**king office.

Take Nicola.

A shift worker who has made zero excuses

She is 20lbs down and has said to me ‘I’m the strongest I’ve ever been’

Nicola originally came to me from Blast and she has gone from strength to strength.

Does she spend hours in the gym? No

Does she do 6 day splits? No

Nicola goes to the gym consistently 3 times a week. Is in and out in the hour and makes s**t loads of progress.

This has been a big factor in her job causing her to go to incidents with all of the confidence in the world.

Just stop with your s**tty challenges, juice diets or f**k knows what else because you’re dealing with real people and real life situations.

About as supportive as your grotty Y fronts….

‘I’ve got a coach but I’m not making progress’

The amount of times I’ve heard this on an initial call is beyond me

You seem to forget that you invest in PTs that know f**k all about shift work

They’ve never been to a child death

Or a fatal RTC

They’ve never been held on late because a bomb has been found

Or because you’re waiting for relief at the hospital from the 136 that you’ve been watching

They don’t get why you can’t get to the gym 5 days a week

They can’t support what they’ve never experienced

And to be honest most PTs are about as supportive as your 20 year old smelly Y fronts.

But also a lot of PTs are s**t

I saw one the other day bouncing around a supermarket like a thick Duracell bunny telling people how various fruits have 0 calories in them.

This is why you don’t get anywhere with other PTs because they either have

0 clue about the s**t you deal with

Or they’re a bit thick

Or they’re afraid to hurt your feelings

Or all of the above

But since joining me Megan has gone from strength to strength

She initially came to me after seeing the transformations on my page

She had a previous PT

But wasn’t getting the accountability or support she needed until she met me

The extra support through weekly videoed check ins really helps where the previous week is discussed and plans are made for the coming week.

The WhatsApp support made her feel like she had a coach in her pocket that she could message at any point with any questions.

The 4 weekly catch up calls are the biggie. Where she gets a video call with me every 4 weeks to goal set and make new plans for how we are going to achieve it

I noticed it….

Everyone saw it….

It shocked me on my last holiday…

The amount of people (men and women) getting into the pool with their tops on.

Embarrassed to show their body off.

Whilst I’m walking about in my bikini they are covering up in their finest Nike t shirt

They’d f**k about with their kids

Then return to their seat knackered after 5 minutes.

And what upsets me more is that you know you feel s**t

Because you feel it when you wake up every day

Everyday that those work trousers get tighter and tighter

You refuse to order a larger size from the stores

But you still have a small pair in your wardrobe hoping one day you will magically fit into them

And putting stuff on the back burner because you think you can ‘do it yourself’

It’s f**king silly.

Spend the next couple of months feeling s**te? No thanks.

Spend the next few months making 0 progress? F**k that

How about the next few months are where we can make tonnes of progress.

Just like Connor did.

He stopped the guess work.

He stopped taking 2 steps forward and then 4 back as soon as a s**t shift happened

He had the accountability to stay on track even when a late shift happened and realised that he doesn’t need to survive on fast food

Connor stayed consistent

He’s now lifting heavier weights in the gym

And he will be going into his second holiday prep soon.

Giving ourself plenty of time

So build this years summer body now so you no longer have to hide it.

Because if you’re waiting until April and your holiday is in July then you’re starting too late.

So let’s actually get to work at building that body both on and off shift like Connor has.
