Adding some stock ready for this years
I’ve seven new stools to add to the chairs I will have on display at Chantry Close (near the spirit vaults pub).
I’ll be making some hazel flowers and chatting about upcoming courses and new courses in 2027.

Everyone’s weaving well on square basketry course.
Some fab baskets woven, well done everyone 👌

We have the super skilled teaching at for our two-day end grain cup course.
Lots of tip up and tip down hook tool action and great seeing students start off nervously and grow in confidence over the days turning.
The afternoon will be spent hollowing the inside of their cups.

Eddie is fantastically skilled and a generous teacher so always a pleasure watching him pass on his skills.

That’s 9-10th September
Spend two days being taught at our woodland workshop by the master basket weaver.
Suitable for beginners and more advanced weavers.
Course cost includes all materials and a hot lunch each day.

What a great weekend cutting, splitting, cleaving, drawknifing, turning, smoothing and creating some stools.
A fun way to learn at my woodland workshop.

Day two of chairmaking and the students are preparing blanks for their short spindles.
We’ve also teaching a plate turning course. Glorious and sunny atm, hot weather later!

Second day of my stool making weekend. Legs are drying and time to shape stool tops.
We’ve a variety of tools, planes, travishers, inshaves, scrapers and spokeshaves. Lots to choose from and each will give a different finish.
