FT: Hucknall Town 2-4 AIFC ⚔️
Tough conditions today but the boys were on the front foot from the off, with RJ pouncing on a George Clarke shot that came off the bar within the first minute of the game to put us ahead!
Our hosts got back on level terms after 12 minutes, but ivanhoe continued to pile the pressure on.
The breakthrough came when again Clarke delivered a brilliant ball across the face of the goal, with Mario Mendez waiting at the far post to convert and put Ashby back ahead!
The game was firmly in our control at the break, with George Teeney rounding the keeper in a one on one moments before the whistle, and calming slotting into an empty net to make it 3!
After the break, the wind died down slightly and the boys remained in control, however it was Town that clawed one back to make it 3-2 with 17 minutes gone of the second period.
A massive claim for a penalty came shortly after, when the Hucknall defender tangled legs with Teeney, however it was surprisingly waved away!
The boys continued to work hard, earning a corner from a high press. Clarke fired another delivery into the danger area, and Harry Lansdowne rose to thunder his header into the back of the next to round off a brilliant afternoon!
Superb from the lads all over the pitch in tricky conditions, a credit to them for digging in and getting the result!👏🏻
