🏸 Ashby Badminton Club – Temporary Venue Change 🏸

Important update for all members and visitors

Due to emergency heating works at Ashby School Hall, we are unfortunately unable to use the hall for the next 5 weeks. Ivanhoe is also unavailable, so we’ve secured an alternative venue to ensure club nights can continue.

🏸 We will return to Ashby School Hall on Tuesday 25 August.

We appreciate this change may be inconvenient, but this was the only suitable hall available to keep the club running during the works.

🏆 Congratulations to Rachel – Winner of the Ashby Badminton Club Chairperson’s Cup 2025/26! 🏸

We were delighted to present this season’s Chairperson’s Cup to Rachel, a hugely deserving winner who received multiple nominations from club members.

Since joining the club, Rachel has become a fantastic addition both on and off the court. She is a strong and competitive player, always keen to give her best and great fun to play alongside in matches. Rachel has stepped in to help out on numerous occasions, has been incredibly supportive of the club and its members, and is always positive and encouraging to everyone around her.

One of the things members value most about Rachel is her attitude. She is consistently kind, enthusiastic and supportive, and embodies exactly the spirit we want at Ashby Badminton Club.

In Rachel’s own words:

“I hadn’t played badminton for years, and after having children the thought of walking into a club night was really scary. Simon tricked me into coming along on my first night! I love coming down on a Tuesday and playing in matches. Everyone is so wonderful and lovely. Thank you for having me.”

Rachel, thank you for everything you bring to the club. We are thrilled to recognise your contribution and are delighted to have you as part of the Ashby Badminton Club family.

Due to school exams we have a few changes with venue in the next few months. All club nights, in both venues are from 19.00 to 21.00.

5 May will be at Ashby sports hall as normal

We will then be at Ivanhoe sports hall for the following nights:
- 12 May
- 26 May
- 2 June
- 9 June

There is no club night on 19 May due to our AGM

We will be back at Ashby as normal from 16 June.

Club is on as normal tonight folks but a reminder we do not have the hall for the next two weeks so that’s the 24th of February and the 3rd of March we won’t be here, see you soon!
