We are so close to being ready to open, but we have so many jobs that still need doing!

If you can join us for an hour or so between 5pm and 9pm this evening, we would be eternally grateful 🙏

No experience or tools necessary

Many hands make light work, as they say.

Tea and biscuits are supplied and in repayment for your time, all volunteers will be invited to a special event 🤫🤫🤫🤫

Plenty of jobs to do but no experience or equipment necessary:

PLUMBER AND CARPENTER/BUILDER NEEDED

We have a few jobs at the swimming pool that need doing before we open that are a bit beyond our skill set!

We have a donated dishwasher that needs plumbing in, a shower water pressure issue to try and sort, a leaky tap and potentially some new doors to hang.

Can anyone help or recommend someone that could help us out in the next few weeks?

We have our second pool Volunteer day this evening at 6pm-9pm.

After making a great start on Sunday, we still have plenty of jobs that need doing!

We have inside and outside jobs, so whatever the weather, we can find something to do!

Let's get ready for Summer!

Who is ready for the pool to open? We could have done with it in all this hot weather 🫠

But we are on track for an end of June opening and as part of that, we need to get the site spruce up and ready.

Our first volunteer day is this weekend on Sunday and we would love for anyone to pop in and say hello, stay for a bit or the whole day and help with cleaning, pressure washing or weeding the site.

Of course if you just want to pop your head in and say hi (and bring us some biscuits) that would also be gratefully appriciated.

Today, 27th May, is the pools 90th Birthday. We will be doing lots of activities and events this year to celebrate this momentous birthday year.
See a snapshot of the Portreeves Journal on this day 90 years ago where he officially opened the pool.
Our town really does have a fantastic history and we are so pleased that the pool is part of this- and still welcoming swimmers throughout the summer season.

Great progress being made on the pool phase II works.
The pic below shows the pool cleaned and ready for the liner installation. You can see the rolls of liner underlay ready to be fitted lying next to the pool.

That’s all folks!
Swimming season 2025 is over for Ashburton Swimming Pool.
We can’t thank everyone involved enough. The Lifeguards have been amazing this year, the Volunteers have made a huge impact on what we have been able to achieve. Cat, our manager contributed a phenomenal amount to our community and the Trustees have worked exceptionally hard behind the scenes to keep the pool open and safe.
This year has without doubt seen its challenges, so we have all been grateful for the positive messages and great feedback we get from our visitors.
