Ashburton FC are still looking to add a couple of committed players for the upcoming season..

With the luck with had in pre season and losing players to injuries we do have the chance to add a couple.

We know there's lots of changes happening with certain squads so if someone is looking for a fresh challenge, or maybe looking at a season on the bench that wants to have the opportunity to play a bit more then get in touch.

Unfortunately over the last couple weeks one of our players have let us down and brought shame upon the club.
Samuel Whiffin has been turning our for out local rivals Buckfastleigh reserves.
Yes he has been made to pay some heavy fines but as a club we thought there is only one appropriate action that needed to be taken so he could make amends to his fellow team mates.
This is his public apology.
No it doesn't matter he scored 2 goals, or that he save a penalty its a dark day when a local lad turns out for their biggest rival.

We we're meant to be playing Saturday but due to holidays we're short so we have left first refusal with that team but if they can't do it then we will be looking.

I know its short notice but if anyone fancies a game please get in touch

Ashburton FC are looking to add a couple additions to the squad before the start of the season.
Due to injuries and couple retirement ashes are looking to add a couple of experienced committed players to the back line.

So any centre backs or even a left back out there looking for a change of scene, or looking at their current side and thinking they might not play that might then please feel free to drop us a message.

Morning All,

An update of Brandon Hext, his recovery and his gofundme appeal.

Brandon is out of hospital and now back home with his partner Becky, he did also come out to see the lads play football last night in his new 5 speed push wheelchair! Lads loved seeing him there last night and hopefully Brandon will be able to help support the lads for most home games from the sidelines.

The fundraiser has almost reach £2,000 which Brandon and the club are amazed by people generosity and can't thank you enough. We all understand this is a particularly expensive month especially for people out there with families and got holidays planned so again we can't thank you all enough.

Brandon Hext update, Brandon is now finally home after a week in hospital and an operation that seen him left with a titanium rod in his left for the rest of his life.
The long road to recovery starts now, over the next 6 months there are going to be loads of ups and downs, a lot of hard times but with a little baby on the way, happy times are ahead.
The fundraiser has nearly reached £1,300 which is amazing to see, thank you to everyone that's donated so far.
A special thank you to Gareth James Kendall who donation was an amazing touch.

Ashburton FC have created a page for our club captain Brandon Hext.

For people that don't know Brandon suffered a season ending injury in a pre season friendly this year and broke his Tibia & Fibula bones in his leg.
Unfortunately for Brandon⁩ he is self employed and after many conversations with different government departments and HMRC he isnt entitled to any sort of statutory sick pay which in itself is disgraceful.

Brandon suffered a serious break to both his tibia and fibula, requiring surgery to insert a titanium rod and screws to stabilise his leg. While the surgery is now over, the difficult road to recovery has only just begun. He faces a long period of rehabilitation and physiotherapy, gradually rebuilding the strength and movement in his leg and learning to walk normally again.
This injury being bad enough and could never come at a good time financially for anyone who's self employed. Brandon has just had the amazing news that he is soon to be a dad, that being said this amazing news will also bring its own financial worries.

Many people will have played with and against Brandon for a number of years and know he's a good player and a better bloke.
There will be plenty of amateur players that will know this exact pain or worry of being in this position of not knowing where to turn next so were hoping that the generosity of other amateur players may help soften the blow.
We are not asking for much but if anyone feels like they can help in any way, us at Ashburton as a club and individuals will be eternally grateful.

As a club we've had some horrific news this week, club captain Brandon Hext sustained a season ending injury.
A tackle has left Brandon Hext with a broken Tibia & Fibula bones in his leg.
Brandon will be a big loss through the season for Ashes, but as a club we wish him a speedy recovery and expect to see him at games to support the lads shortly.
Up the Ashes..
