At Horizon Adventure Breaks, we provide short-term, high-quality adventure
placements for children and young people who need a safe, nurturing and
engaging environment. Whether they're facing a crisis, in need of respite or
simply requiring a break in a supportive setting, our programme offers
structure, adventure and stability. We specialise in 28-day activity-based placements that combine outdoo

adventures, therapeutic experiences and structured routines. Our unique
model blends high-energy outdoor pursuits with compassionate,
trauma-informed support, helping young people to build confidence, develop
resilience and feel empowered.

🎉 One year of Horizon Adventure Breaks! 🎉

Today marks one whole year since Horizon Adventure Breaks officially began operating and what a year it has been! 🌿🏕️

At Horizon, we believe that Young People deserve the very best of what we have to give them. They deserve the opportunity to feel safe, build confidence, experience adventure and discover what they are capable of. Over the past year, we have worked hard to turn that belief into something real, and it is something we are incredibly proud of.

Over the last 12 months, we have:

🌲 Supported young people through adventure, nature and new experiences
🧗 Created opportunities to develop confidence, independence and life skills
🐴 Introduced young people to outdoor activities, animals, horticulture and more
🤝 Built relationships with local authorities, professionals, families and partner organisations
👥 Grown our amazing team
🏡 Continued developing our environments and the opportunities we can offer
🏆 Achieved our AALA licence — another huge milestone for us!

But above all, we have seen Young People achieve things they didn't believe they could. Those moments are exactly why Horizon exists. ❤️

We know there is still so much more to come. We have big plans for the next year, and we can't wait to see where the journey takes us.

A huge thank you to every young person who has trusted us, every family and professional who has worked alongside us, our incredible staff team, and everyone who has supported Horizon along the way.

🌿 A little morning adventure 🌿

This morning, one of our young people went out for a run with staff, getting some exercise, fresh air and time outdoors. 🏃‍♂️🌳

After the run, they stopped by the pond and picked some fresh water mint, ready to use later to make a lovely cup of mint tea. 🌱☕

We love these little moments — encouraging young people to be active, enjoy nature, try new things and build everyday independence along the way.

Sometimes the simplest experiences can be the most meaningful. 💚

📍 We've Moved!

We're excited to share that Horizon Adventure Breaks has officially moved into our new home!

You'll now find us at Sapperton Park Courtyard. This marks an exciting new chapter for us as we continue to grow and develop the support we provide for children and young people.

We're still getting everything organised and putting the finishing touches to our new workspace, so we're keeping the inside under wraps for now! 👀

We'll share a full office tour once we're completely settled in and have added all those personal touches that make it feel like home.

For now, here's a little sneak peek of one of our new Outdoor Stores, ready to support plenty more adventures ahead! 🌿🏕️

🎉 We Did It! We Are Officially AALA Licensed! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to announce that Horizon Adventure Breaks has officially been awarded our AALA licence!

This is a huge milestone for our organisation and reflects our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality outdoor adventure experiences for the young people we support.

This achievement didn't happen overnight. It is the result of months of hard work, dedication and attention to detail. A special thank you goes to Stuart and Fernando, who have worked tirelessly throughout the process, leading from the front and ensuring every requirement was met to the highest standard.

We also want to recognise our fantastic outdoor instructors, whose support, knowledge and commitment have been invaluable every step of the way. This has truly been a team effort.

We're excited about what this means for the future of Horizon Adventure Breaks and can't wait to continue providing adventurous, therapeutic experiences that help young people build confidence, resilience and independence.
