There wasn’t one dramatic moment where everything suddenly went wrong for Brad.
It happened gradually.
He moved from Australia to the UK not so long ago.
While settling into a new life, his weight started creeping up.
Then his energy started disappearing with it.
He felt fatigued more often.
His fitness dropped.
Things that should have felt normal started taking more out of him.
And as a dad, one of those things mattered far more than what the scales said.
Playing with his kids had become tiring.
That’s a difficult place to find yourself.
You can ignore a tighter waistband for a while.
You can buy the next shirt size up.
You can tell yourself you’ll sort it soon.
But when your fitness starts affecting how you feel around your family, it becomes harder to brush off.
Brad knew he wanted to get fitter and healthier.
He’d been thinking about doing something for quite a while.
He just hadn’t taken that next step.
There was another thing holding him back too.
He’d never really trained properly in a gym before.
So even once he decided he wanted to change, there was still that question sitting in the background.
What if I walk in and have no idea what I’m doing?
That fear lasted about one session.
Brad got in touch with a Head Coach at Transformation HQ and finally gave it a go.
Instead of being expected to know everything already, he was coached through it.
No pressure to prove himself.
No wandering around wondering which machine to use.
No pretending he knew what he was doing.
The starting point was simply his starting point.
And that changed things quickly.
“The team made me feel welcome and that my lack of gym knowledge did not matter.”
Brad started with the 6-Week Meltdown.
Three coached small-group sessions each week.
A simple approach to food.
Regular accountability.
And, most importantly, some structure.
He no longer had to keep thinking about what he should do.
He had sessions booked in.
He had a plan to follow.
He had somebody keeping him moving in the right direction.
That’s where Transformation HQ is very different from simply joining a gym and hoping motivation carries you through.
A normal gym gives you access.
A class gives you a workout.
A personal trainer three times a week can cost a fortune.
Brad needed something more useful than any of those on their own.
He needed to know what to do when he trained, how to make progress, what to do with his food and how to keep going when motivation inevitably dipped.
That structure started creating momentum.
The weight began to come down.
His clothes started fitting differently.
He got stronger.
And something else changed too.
Training stopped feeling like something intimidating.
It became something he could actually see himself getting better at.
“The feeling you gain when you have had a good training session is like nothing I had experienced before.”
That mattered.
Because Brad wasn’t relying on some burst of motivation anymore.
He could feel himself progressing.
Week by week, he was becoming stronger.
Then there was the food.
Like a lot of people, Brad could easily have assumed that getting in better shape meant eating boring meals and being miserable for months.
That wasn’t his experience.
He learned how to make better choices without feeling like every meal had become punishment.
“Food still tastes great even when you are on a diet.”
By the end of his 6-Week Meltdown, Brad had built the momentum he’d been missing for years.
But he didn’t want to stop there.
So he continued with Transformation HQ on the monthly rolling membership.
That meant the same coaching, structure and accountability continued beyond the first six weeks.
And after making progress, Brad eventually decided to push things further.
He took on the 12-Week Shoot.
The Shoot is there for members who want another target.
Training becomes more focused.
Nutrition becomes more precise.
And at the end, you step in front of a professional photographer to mark what you’ve achieved.
For Brad, that final part carries far more weight than it might sound like at first.
Because this was the same man who, not long before, didn’t even like seeing himself without a shirt on.
He had become uncomfortable with what he saw in the mirror.
His confidence had taken a hit.
Now he was deliberately standing shirtless in front of a camera.
That tells you far more than the number on the scales ever could.
The physical results were still significant.
Brad lost more than 11lbs.
He dropped two trouser sizes.
He went down one shirt size.
His clothes finally started fitting the way he wanted them to.
But the bigger result was what happened in his head.
He proved something to himself.
That he could get fitter.
That he could get stronger.
That he could change how he looked.
And that he could maintain it.
“Joining Transformation HQ and doing the Shoot has showed me that I have what it takes to get and maintain the body I wanted.”
That’s the bit that matters.
Brad didn’t become a completely different person.
He got back control of something he’d let slide.
His fitness.
His body.
His confidence.
And his belief that he could actually do something about it.
If you’re reading this and parts of Brad’s story feel familiar, you probably already know something needs to change.
Maybe your clothes don’t fit like they used to.
Maybe you feel softer, weaker or more tired than you want to admit.
Maybe playing with your kids takes more out of you than it should.
Maybe you keep telling yourself you’ll sort it soon.
You don’t need to wait until you feel motivated.
You don’t need gym experience.
You don’t need to be fit before you start.
You just need to stop putting off the first step.
Brad did.
And eventually, the man who didn’t want to see himself without a shirt stood in front of a camera feeling comfortable with how he looked.
His advice to anybody still sitting on the fence is simple.
“If you have any doubts about whether it is right for you or that you have what it takes. Don’t. Sign up and give it a go.”
