Most people see a progress picture, but they don’t understand the work behind it.

So let me fill you in….

Busy CEO. Constant work pressure. Business events. Travel. Meetings. Holidays. Family commitments. Weight-loss plateaus. Food intolerances. Setbacks. Illness.

Yet he kept showing up time and time again.

Why?

Because the goal he is chasing here, means way more than excuse culture or not seeing it through.

Phase 1 WINS:

✅ Lost weight and kept it off.
✅ Fixed long-standing digestive issues by identifying food intolerances.
✅ Built a consistent training routine around a very demanding schedule.
✅ Ran personal bests he hadn’t seen since his twenties.
✅ Finished Top 10 in his age group at DEKA Fit.
✅ Continues to build towards his second HYROX.

The biggest transformation wasn’t physical.

It was the identity shift. That alone has been monumental.

Most won’t understand. But to achieve results and transform you have to become the person who’s already operating like that, which requires you to shift your identity.

From someone trying to “find time” for fitness…

To someone who trains, plans ahead, makes smart decisions when travelling and refuses to let life become an excuse.

Results like this aren’t built through perfection.

They’re built through relentless consistency.

Now we attack Phase II with motivation at an all time high.

If you’re tired of starting over every Monday and want a coach who helps you build results that fit around real life, send me a message with the word “READY”.

One thing that’s really grinding my gears right now is beginners claiming to be experts.

Someone hires a coach. Commits to a photoshoot. Gets themselves into incredible shape. Fair play.

Genuinely.

But that does not automatically make you an expert at getting other people into photoshoot shape.

That’s called personal experience, not expertise.

The runner who completes a few 5ks and suddenly becomes a running coach.

The guy who does one triathlon and starts talking like he’s the authority on endurance training.

The person who completes a fitness race and now claims to be a specialist.

Can people not see through this?

Show me the evidence with others, not just what you did.

What have your clients done?

Show me the transformations. Show me the race results. Show me the case studies.

Show me the hundreds of conversations, mistakes, adjustments and lessons learned from coaching real people with real lives.

Because coaching yourself is one thing.

Coaching a busy parent, a stressed business owner. Somone with injuries. Someone with zero confidence.

That’s a completely different skill.

The fitness industry has become obsessed with materialistic marketing.

Cash. Flash. Laptop lifestyle. Looking like a coach rather than actually being one.

For me, expertise is earned, not just through what you’ve achieved yourself, but through what you can repeatedly help others achieve.

When you’ve built a body of work and you’ve got the evidence.

When you’ve changed lives consistently. Then you’ve earned the right to give it the big licks.

Until then?

You’re not a specialist.

You’re a beginner with a very good bloody story.

After a weekend down by the coast with family, flight mode on, notifications off, reflection was on point.

1.) I don’t care what other people are doing online. When you’re clear on your vision and genuinely excited about your own path, comparison loses its grip.

2.) Most people aren’t lacking information. They’re lacking the courage to act and are crippled by fear of failure.

3.) The older I get, the more I realise that protecting my energy is a rigid nonnegotiable. The negative drains and agony aunts get cut right out.

4.) I used to think confidence came from achievement, but I now know it comes from keeping promises to yourself. Walk the talk.

5.) Integrity will not be compromised. Ever. I’ll continue to embody the behaviour and expectations, a true authentic leader should.

6.) The value placed on health and fitness is 10x especially as a Father. My boys deserve and will get the best version of me.

7.) True fulfilment is driven by legacy and lasting impact and not the flashy bollox stuff. That’s what I’m building.

8.) The older my boys get, the more I understand I’m creating memories they’ll carry for the rest of their lives.

I could add 20 more, but I think about these 8 a lot.

Which one resonates if any?

If you’re 40+, what would you add to this list?

He said he wanted to get quicker and improve his fitness during the off-season.

So that’s exactly what we did.

Session one complete.

And honestly?

One of the most enjoyable sessions I’ve had in a long time.

Over the last year, he’s started asking to join my runs.

He’s wanted to come to the track.

He’s wanted to work on his speed.

Then this weekend he took it a step further and asked to start in the gym.

He’s at that age now where, with supervision, he can use certain equipment and start learning the basics.

And that’s the key.

I will never force fitness on anyone.

But when someone is motivated, inspired and genuinely hungry to improve...

I’ll give them all the time in the world.

Because that’s where real growth happens.

Not through pressure, but through example and leading from the front.

Gym > Swim > Waggas > Movie > Chill.

Dream Saturday, during the off season.

People talk about legacy like it’s something that happens years from now.

It’s not.

Legacy is built in moments like these.

The conversations, the habits and the standards that are maintained 365.

Because whether we realise it or not, the standard gets passed down and that’s where it all begins.

Nutrition coaching to me, is not giving someone a meal plan and let me tell you why.

If you do not understand what a new client typically eats on the daily basis, the quality of the foods and snacks they consume, plus or minus caffeine consumption and alcohol, then you are operating blind.

That’s a fact

Throwing someone on a stereotypical meal plan of protein porridge, chicken, rice and broccoli, mince beef and vegetables and cream of rice, is not going to work long-term.

My approach to coaching clients is very simple and most will roll their eyes, becuase it’s not sexy enough for Instagram.

I find out where they are right now.

I get them to complete a full food diary audit.

I then get them to supply me with three typical breakfasts, lunches and dinners that they have on average and I start there.

I’ll make some recommendations and adjustments.

I’ll make some suggestions and overtime.

We will completely upgrade their nutrition aligned with their goals.

You’ll see the point where I said ‘overtime’.

It is not a complete overhaul.

We do not rip everything out from the start.

It’s about working with the client and adding layer upon layer so that they can get used to it, they understand it, but most importantly we make changes aligned with the feedback data that they’re tracking with all week.

It has to be working for them and it has to move them closer to their goals.

In my opinion this is the best way of getting habits to stick for the long-term.

If they can see it as part of their lifestyle, there is a greater chance that adherence and compliance will be sky high.
