Short Mat Bowls Club We are a small, friendly, short mat bowls club, meeting on a Tuesday evening from 7pm to 9:30pm.

It's nearly time for schools to go back and holidays are coming to an end. It seems the perfect time to join us at Carnation Hall on a Tuesday evening 7.00 to 9.30 for a game of indoor bowls. For non-players tuition will be given. Just bring a pair of flat indoor shoes to change into on the mats. First session free of charge.

Despite the extremely hot weather, with the exception of one evening we have still been playing bowls and enjoying socialising. Do come along for a change from sitting indoors trying to keep cool. We'd love to meet you. 7.00 until 9.30 every Tuesday evening at Carnation Hall, Chavey Down RG42 7PA. Beginners to bowls, as well as experienced, are all welcome.

A wonderful spell of sunny weather for us all to enjoy. Gardening, walks and I've even smelt bbqs in neighbouring gardens. However, some of you are working indoors, which is necessary but frustrating. Why not come along to our short mat bowls club on a Tuesday evening 7pm to 9.30 at Carnation Hall, Chavey Down and enjoy a relaxing, friendly game of bowls. Tuition will be given. You will receive a very warm welcome. 😊

We have had a good start to the year, having played matches against Bracknell and Norreys bowls clubs at home and away. One more away match in two weeks time and the match season ends until October. However, we are always here at Carnation Hall, Chavey Down, every Tuesday evening from 7.00pm until 9pm. Do come along and join us, whether you are already a bowler or would like to give it a try. Training will be given. It is always a fun, social evening with a good game of bowls.

We've celebrated Burns Night and a twelfth of the year nearly gone. Gardens too wet to work in and still long, dark evenings. Come and join us for an evening of bowls to lighten your spirits and meet new friends. No problem if you are new to short mat bowls. Training will be given. First session free. Last Tuesday we had our last bowls evening of 2025. It was a fun evening with crazy bowls games through arches, left handed games with golf balls, raffle, quiz and nibbles. It was a lovely way to end the year. We are back to bowls on 6th January.

2025 matches finished, and Christmas is nearly here. Where did that year go?

We have two more club nights, tonight 25th November and next week 2nd December when everyone is welcome to come along and give bowls a try. You'll thoroughly enjoy it and what a way to start the New Year!! We have our party night on the 9th and then no bowls until the 6th January 2026.

Reminder there will be no bowls this Tuesday 28th October as Carnation Hall shut for floor maintenance.

We had an excellent match against Norreys last week. We won on one mat and were thrashed by them on the other!! It was a lovely evening, with good games of bowls.

Last week we finished our doubles competition. Congratulations to the winning pair, Vanessa and Philip who received a trophy each 🏆.

Tomorrow night we are playing our first match of the season against Norreys, from Wokingham. We're all looking forward to getting together again. There will still be another mat out for those not taking part in the match.
