Last week I delivered a sleep workshop for Mothership and Women’s Network, and over 100 people showed up.

100 working women taking time out of their day to prioritise sleep for their children and for themselves.

✨ For a lunchtime session it was an amazing turn out.

But it also didn’t surprise me. Because sleep deprivation is one of the most common struggles facing working parents and it’s still one of the least talked about in the workplace.

The session covered children’s sleep and adult sleep - practical, gentle tools for navigating the mental load, hormonal changes and the general chaos of modern working life. The focus was on small achievable changes, not perfection.

The feedback was really positive:

“ EY partnered with Emma to deliver a workplace session on sleep, and the response was fantastic. With over 100 attendees and very positive feedback, the session clearly resonated. Emma’s approach is practical, engaging and highly relevant for working parents, we’d highly recommend her ✨— The Mothership and Women’s Network, EY

If you’re a business looking to genuinely support your employees, particularly working parents and women I’d love to chat about bringing a workshop to your organisation.

And if you’re a parent who’s been struggling with sleep, this is exactly the kind of support I offer families too.

I’d love you to come to my June coffee morning ☕️

Parenting wasn’t meant to be done alone, and that’s exactly why I started hosting my monthly coffee mornings over 3.5 years ago. To bring parents together and to share those ‘me too’ moments.

I’m a big believer that everything feels a bit better when you get out the house and chat to other parents who just ‘get it’.

So come along to at Windlesham Field of Remembrance on Tuesday 16th June between 10-11am. Pop it in your diary and tell a friend.

It’s the perfect way to meet some local parents, enjoy a great cup of coffee and get some FREE sleep support.

It’s a very relaxed, informal meet up, free to attend (just pay for your coffee) and no need to book.

📆 Tuesday 16th June
⏰ 10-11am
📍 Fieldhouse Coffee, Windlesham Field of Remembrance

Tag a local friend who would love this.

I look forward to seeing you on the 16th. Any questions, just drop them below or send me a message.

Yep. We’ve all been there.

Lying in the dark, one hand on a sleeping baby, phone in the other, typing something into Google that you never thought you’d need to know.

The 45 minute nap thing. The hourly wake ups. The toddler who desperately needs to say goodnight to the cat and have a snack the second you leave the room.

I guarantee you’ve searched at least one of these. Probably at a time when you’re the only one in the house awake.

And if you’re in the depths of sleep deprivation right now - the broken nights, the never ending bedtimes, please know it doesn’t have to stay like this. Small changes can make a big difference to sleep.

🍦 Keeping Cool! 🍦

This is my daughter when she was a few weeks old in May 2017. It was a scorching hot week and I really struggled to keep her cool, particularly during naps and at night time.

We are in for a scorcher this weekend and next week, with temperatures already rising.

I know a lot of parents worry about their baby’s sleep in the heat, particularly when the bedroom thermometer is glowing red with a figure in the mid to high 20s!

Whilst we often can’t control the temperature of the bedroom, we can help our little ones feel a little more comfortable in the heat.

The hot weather can change feeding and sleeping patterns, particularly in young babies. Bedtimes might be trickier as they struggle to get comfortable, sleep might be lighter, and they may wake more often for a feed. And let’s be honest, when sleep is already lacking, patience levels can wear pretty thin too!

Babies can’t regulate their own body temperature until they are around the age of 2, so keeping them as cool as possible really does make a difference.

Swipe ⬅️ for some tips I’ve found useful for managing sleep and feeding in the heat with a baby.

Good luck and enjoy the sunshine as much as you can whilst it lasts! ☀️

Flying with a baby doesn’t have to be the stuff of nightmares, I promise.
