Headline: Standing Together as One Community

Following the devastating events in Arnold Town Centre this past Saturday, Woodthorpe Community Football Club wishes to express our deepest condolences to the victims and their families.

Football is more than just a game; it is a community. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our friends at Woodthorpe Park Rangers and the entire town during this incredibly difficult time.

To support those affected, we will be holding a collection within the local area, please contact us on Facebook messenger for details. Once we have confirmed our End of Season Festival on July 11th, all proceeds will go directly to the victims' fund to provide support to our neighbours in need. We will also be holding a Charity Match at our festival, please wait for further details.

Looking for new players for our soon to be U12's Earthquakes Team transferring from the Kick Start League to the YEL League 26/27 season.

The past 3 weeks I have managed to watch some games for Woodthorpe Community Football Club. In total I think its 9 games in 3 weeks as Owner, Chair and Treasurer. From under 7's to under 12's so far. Love watching kids develop, play and have fun. Today I watched U10's Dynamos I a narrow loss and the U7's Union in a amazing win. TassiGiles Travel proud sponsors of this energetic, spirited team.

Up training with Charlie for his DofE Bronze award with Ben Mickle and the WCFC Dynamos u10. Paid a visit by Cllr. John Semens and Cllr. Wendy Lukacs great supporters of Woodthorpe Community Football Club. Delayed cheque presentation and promised further support from them. With immediate effect from 1 January 2026, Simon Fossett has been dismissed from WCFC.
Ben Mickle will assume responsibility for the Club Secretary role on an interim basis until a Club EGM is held.

Club Statement from Chair and Owner

Woodthorpe Community FC is aware of an allegation that was made concerning a member of our staff. Upon being made aware of the matter, the club acted appropriately and cooperated fully with Nottinghamshire Police throughout their investigation.

Nottinghamshire Police have now concluded their enquiries and have confirmed that no wrongdoing was identified. As a result, the police have advised that no further action will be taken in relation to this matter.

Woodthorpe Community FC takes all allegations of this nature extremely seriously. The welfare, safety, and wellbeing of all players, volunteers, and members of our community remain our highest priority. The club has robust safeguarding policies and procedures in place, which are reviewed regularly to ensure they meet the required standards.

While investigations of this kind are ongoing, the club is mindful of the importance of confidentiality and fairness for all parties involved. We appreciate the patience and understanding shown by our members during this process.
