πŸŸ βš«πŸ”΄πŸŸ’All roads led to Ford's Cross on Sunday evening to witness the u14 division 3 championship shield final between Newtown Emmets O'Doirnins (NEOD's) against Mullaghbawn. Both teams started off nervously missing scoring chances early on, however the NEOD's settled the quickest converting some well taken scores. The Mullaghbawn boys stormed back into the lead with some excellent long range scores. But just before half time the NEODs scored 3 goals in quick succession to go in at half time leading 3-04 to 0-07.
Mullaghbawn started the second half in determined fashion reducing the deficit to just 2 points and had the momentum. The NEOD's steadied the ship and pushed on with some well taken scores and Mullaghbawn couldn't find the answers as NEOD's finished the game very strongly. The final score was 6-11 to 1-12. Credit to Mullaghbawn the scoreline didn't tell the story of how competitive they were in this game. The NEOD's, this was the first year of this age group that have amalgamated but the way the lads played you would think they were together for years, such was the level of teamwork in the squad. Well done to players and management πŸŸ βš«πŸ”΄πŸŸ’
