It was a Fantastic weekend of football as the Armagh City boys and girls returned to SSG action with some outstanding performances across the board! 👏⚽️

A brilliant result on the road and another three points on the board for our U18s! 💪

It’s a result we would have absolutely snapped your hand off for before kick-off, although we probably made the game far more difficult for ourselves than it needed to be.

After weathering an early Ards storm, City settled into the game and raced into a 2–0 lead. A lapse in concentration and communication allowed the hosts back into the contest midway through the first half, and for a spell we struggled to regain our composure.

That was until Shane Toner produced an absolutely outrageous strike from fully 25 yards, finding the top corner 🚀 to restore our two-goal advantage right on the stroke of half-time.

Ards pulled another goal back early in the second half, again against the run of play, setting up another frantic period.
Credit to the lads, though — they kept their nerve, continued to push forward and eventually found the all-important fourth goal to put the game beyond doubt and make sure all three points came back to Armagh. 🔵⚫️

After a disappointing start last weekend on the road,the boys returned home to Holm Park and turned it into a fortress today.
The difference between night and day in the performance today from last week.
From the kick off,the boys controlled the first half against a Ballyclare team confident from a 4-1 win last weekend and showing up at Armagh hoping to continue their run.The goal,however came from a bit of ping-pong in the box,with Ballyclare's keeper saving several times before Finn finally slotted home.Determination saw the boys see out the half and come into the break a goal to the good.
The second half tested the boys a lot more.Ballyclare had not come to relinquish top spot in the League and turned the screw in the remainder of the game.
A super, determined display,with a stubborn defence, a flying front three on the break and a hard working midfield fighting for every ball today. Continuesly being asked questions, the boys had answers to everything thrown at them this morning and deserved to hold out for the 3 points.
A brilliant shift from everyone in the squad today,and it was hard to separate anyone, but with a brilliant defensive units effort in the second half it had to be one of them.
Congratulations to Noah on player of the match today 👏
Big thanks to the boys not selected in the match day squad showing up to support their teammates and of course, parents,family and friends for cheering the boys on from the stand.

U14 EAGLES 5 v 3 HANOVER

Great start to the league campaign with 3 points on the board away from home big move up to 11 aside pitch after a year in development league took the lads a while to settle but once they all got going they never looked back well done lads

U14 MUYL Premiership

Armagh city u14 3 v 3 Dungannon Utd Youth

First game of the season couldn't have started any better for the lads.
Kaydan McKinley on his debut scored after 2 mins. The city of lads could have scored another not long after but ended up conceding to a long range effort.
Eoghan then scored a worldie on his left foot with a great assist from kaydan.
After that the game was 50/50 and somehow ended up 3-2 down but ordhran scored a peach in the last few minutes to get us a draw.

On another day we would have walked away with 3 points.
Onwards and upwards for the young eagles 🔵⚫️🦅
Also a big shout out to Ruairi and Ballo for helping us out today from the u13s.
They didnt look out of place 🤝🏻💪

U12 MUYL Div 2

U12 Eagles 2 v 1 Craigavon City colts

We kicked off the season this morning with a typical tough game against Craigavon.
We started slow although only needed one chance for Finn to bag his first goal.
A mistake at the back gave Craigavon an easy leveller but the lads worked hard to make more chances, with Finn again making strong runs to eventually bag his second!
We finished the first half as the stronger team and started the second knowing that we were in for a physical battle.

Some good spells of passing in the centre during the second half but just couldn’t find that final one to put the game away.
Overall it was a scrappy with some decisions wrongly going against us, but we deserved the win and the lads should be proud of their work.

Shout out to Jac, our new goalkeeper, brave throughout dominating his box.
