On the 125th Anniversary of the First Ardrossan Winton Rovers FC Match being held at Winton Park, the Club were delighted to welcome members of the Board of Cunninghame Housing Association, a long time sponsor of the Club to open and name the recently reburbished Main Stand at Winton Park.
Chairperson Janet Strachan, Vice Chairperson Brenda Johnstone and Board Member William Gibson joined CHA Chief Executive Officer Jaqueline Cameron and Jennifer McCann, Executive Director Housing and Communities with Ardrossan Winton Rovers Board members Pat Breen Chairman, John Sheehan Vice Chair, Bobby Macnamara, Club Secretary, Eddie Gibb, Company Secretary and Groundsman Donald Reid named the stand The Cunninghame Housing Association Stand.
The party were joined by Denise Fraser of North Ayrshire Council Locality Planning who provided grant funding for the reburbishment.
Club Historian George McGrattan informed the party that the opening of the stand marked the 125th Anniversary of the first Match held at Winton Park on Saturday 31st August 1901 with a game against local rivals Ardrossan Celtic, with the visitors running out 4-1 victors.
