Classes in Arbroath, Montrose, & Brechin. Hi, I'm Master at Arms Mark Davies, & I'm the Instructor for NinjaSkool in Arbroath & Montrose. I first started teaching my classes for Little Ninjas back in 2001 after realising that young children didn't get as much out of traditional Martial Arts training as I wanted them to. NinjaSkool is a unique syllabus specially developed for children from 4 throug
h to around 7 years of age. What makes NinjaSkool different to all the other classes available is that we ACTUALLY ACTIVELY TEACH POSITIVE LIFE SKILLS IN EVERY CLASS. The reality is that Martial Arts classes always say they teach discipline etc etc, but they expect the children to somehow absorb life skills through osmosis or something, lol (I've been teaching since 1987, so I have been around & seen a lot), while in NinjaSkool our syllabus actually revolves around teaching children in a way that they can understand what attributes like 'discipline' or 'focus' are in ways that they can understand, & using fun games & drills to help them to improve & develop those life skills. Most other classes teach them to kick & punch, we teach them SO much more! I got into Martial Arts originally in 1980 as a child. I was a very peculiar little boy with aspergers, & was getting horrendously bullied. I had been fascinated by the Martial Arts from about the age of 6 (I honestly knew back then that I wanted to be a teacher some day, lol) but there weren't any classes locally to go to, & back then it was all adults training (even when I started training I was the only junior there for many years). I got more seriously into Martial Arts in 1983, when I started training in ITF TaeKwon-Do, which became my 'mother art'. I passed my (first) black belt in 1987, & eventually reached 5th Dan in ITF TaeKwon-Do, & was the Technical Director for self defence training for the UK TaeKwon-Do Federation & in charge of the self defence training syllabus nationally. I started cross training in other Martial Arts in the mid 1980's, & have been fortunate to have been able to travel & train with some of the worlds best masters & instructors in a wide variety of arts, & I have earned Black Belt & Instructors credentials in several different Martial Arts, with my main love becoming the Filipino & South East Asian fighting arts; & I am the only person in Europe certified as a Combat Technologies Instructor by the legendary Master at Arms James A Keating in the USA. In NinjaSkool we teach children a blend of physcial techniques drawn from our Juniors Martial Arts programmes, so that when they are older they are able to move up into the older kids classes seamlessly. The techniques we teach are selected for their neurological & physiological stage of development, & help to develop their physical motor skills. We use special games & drills to help them develop mentally & physically, & to develop life skills like discipline & self control, focus etc. We also actively teach anti bullying skills that are geared to their age & the sort of things that bullies in their age group do. I'm a certified anti bullying coach with Master Richard Vinces fantastic anti bullying & self esteem system. We teach them how NOT to become a victim to bullying, why bullies bully, & how to respond to bullying using body language, verbal skills. & if needs be physcial self defence that is suitable for their age. I have classes at my gym 'the BEST defence' in Arbroath, & also at Hands of Stone boxing gym in Montrose. My assistant instructor, Miss Nicole Murray 3rd Dan, has a class at Brechin Community Boxing Club in Brechin. If you would like more details on the original & best Martial Arts class for young children please send us a PM. Master at Arms Mark Davies
