Massereene had qualified for the final as Ulster champions followed by an All-Ireland semi-final win.
On their way to the Ulster final Massereene had victories over Greenisland, Clandeboye and Armagh golf clubs before defeating Belvoir Park G C for the Ulster title at Kirkistown Castle G C for the Ulster title.

In that match the top pairing of mother and daughter Eva & Lisa Hamilton got Massereene off to the perfect start with a win. This was closely followed by wins for Marie Agnew & Theresa Cushnahan and Jenny Parkhill & Martha Magowan.

As Ulster champions Massereene qualified for an All-Ireland semi-final versus Ballykisteen G C at Co Longford G C and again coming away with the win and a place in the All-Ireland final at St. Margaretโ€™s G C. Awaiting them were Claremorris G C, the other All-Ireland semi-final winners.

With M. Agnew & T. Cushnahan posting an early win for Massereene, the pairing of J. Parkhill & M. Magowan then confirmed Massereene as All-Ireland champions with a 2&1 win meaning the final pairing of Marie Mc Collum & E. Hamilton weโ€™re called in to start the celebrations!!โ›ณ๏ธ
