🎄♟️ Christmas Blitz & Curry Night ♟️🎄

A brilliant way to round off the year at Anstey Chess Club with our annual 5+3 Christmas Blitz, followed by a fantastic curry at Passage to India 🍛

Fast chess, great performances (especially from our ever-improving juniors 👏), and a perfect 5/5 win for Alan Agnew. Well played to Ted for silver and El Presidente for bronze!

Big thanks to everyone who took part — great chess, great company, and a cracking night all round.

The Anstey Chess Club started the new league campaign this week, with a historical number of teams, outnumbering every other club in the county! The first home outing for our teams was a double Anstey Vs Anstey, with many surprising results, a trend customary for those clashes!

If you want to be part of the thrill of competitive chess, it's never too late! We play every Thursday from 7.30pm.

Summer is officially over! With your favourite club hosting the Trophy presentation ceremony last Thursday, the 2024-25 season officially concluded. People from around the county gathered for the ceremony and a charity rapid tournament where three Anstey teams competed for the first spot!
