Ride Descriptions:

• Our “Social” level road rides are our entry level of rides. They typically ride at about 11-13mph, are around 2½ hrs and up to 30 miles, but this will depend on the group makeup, weather & terrain.

• The "Inters" road rides are typically longer in distance, slightly faster, 13 - 15mph, involving some hills and are around 30 - 40 miles long.

• The "Inters Plus" road rides are similar to the Inters rides but are slightly longer again in distance & typically slightly faster, around 15-17mph.

• The "Club" road rides are longer, involve more technical riding and will typically ride at 17mph+, be 45 miles+ and will involve quite a few hills.

• Gravel bike rides typically use bits of road, byways, bridleways, forest tracks, “green lanes”, towpaths, repurposed railway lines, and easier non-technical mountain bike tracks. Our rides will vary in distance according to the specific route, the ground conditions etc., and will normally be about 3 hours long. Café stops are included wherever possible.

• The MTB rides vary in length and are generally for about 3 - 3½ hours.

• We also do "extended rides" now and again which are a little longer than the normal rides. All rides operate a no drop policy ensuring nobody gets left behind.

Volunteers create communities and Angmering Cycling Club is a brilliant example of how local volunteers are helping people become more active, build confidence and make new friendships.

Their ladies’ rides have encouraged more women to get involved in cycling, creating a welcoming environment where riders of all abilities can enjoy getting outdoors together.

Whether it’s through sport, arts, community groups or local charities, volunteers across Arun and Chichester are making opportunities like these possible every day.

Congratulations to everyone at Angmering Cycling Club for creating such an inclusive and supportive community.

Have you discovered a local volunteer-led group that’s made a difference to you? We’d love to hear about it in the comments.

Yesterday (21st June) 18 riders from Angmering Cycling Club left home at 5:30am and headed to Clapham Common for what turned out to be a hot and long day in the saddle, riding 54 miles (87km). We were delayed at 14 miles for around 2 hours due to an incident (our thoughts are with affected families), and this meant we rode in warmer conditions than planned. However, all the riders made it to Brighton for a warm welcome from the crowds on the seafront. At the time of writing this post the group have raised 79% of our target, an amazing £5,555 for Guild Care, thanks to all our supporters, you are all amazing.
