Another good day with more people signing up for the World War 1 - 100 relay walk and the offer of help from cadet forces which is fantastic. The numbers are growing and the more that walk with us the better and more visible we become. One of the main aspects of this walk is obviously commemorating the centenary of WW1 but more importanly for Veterans In Action we will be highlighting how veterans suffer many years after wars have ended due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. If you want to be part of the largest event this year and raise some funds to help those who are suffering now then please contact me on [email protected] and I will send you full details.

Next year may be the first since at least 1914 that British soldiers, sailors and air crews will not be engaged in fighting somewhere – the first time Britain is totally at peace with the rest of the world. It is widely thought that 1968 was a similar year but we still had troops fighting overseas. This brings a new significance to our WW1 - 100 relay walk next year as we will not only be commemorating the start of WW1, we will be walking over 100 days to commemorate every year since and the graphic on our tour bus will reflect this.
