The Suzanne School of Dancing welcomes all wanting to dance from the age of three. Whether you prefer the grace and beauty of ballet, the rhythm and vitality of tap, or the energy and fun of modern dance, our range of classes through the week can provide. The school has a modern approach to teaching, with classes that are imaginative, creative, and enjoyable, as well as helping to achieve many lif

e skills beyond that of dance. Our classes are held within The Lights Theatre, Andover


All the Teachers were pupils of the Suzanne School, creating a warm, family atmosphere for all our students. We work closely together under the Principal Grace Hicks who has just celebrated her Golden Anniversary at the helm. We are experienced, qualified members of established examination boards RAD, ISTD and BRITISH ARTS - also DBS checked and up to date with all first aid requirements. Examinations in the three genres are offered to pupils. This allows them to reach their full potential, developing greater confidence and a sense of achievement. The RAD and ISTD examinations are recognised by Ofqual, awarding points which may then be used when applying to university. Please note these examinations are not compulsory; children may still progress, simply enjoying dancing. Classes are graded to allow for constant progression and achievement; many continue to dance until the age of eighteen plus, and some further on to their chosen careers. A number of pupils, inspired by their time at the school, seek further tuition which develops into a dance related future. One of the highlights for all our school age students is our biennial charity show at our local theatre “The Lights”, which has raised many thousands of pounds for local worthy causes. The excitement of performing on stage is an experience never to be forgotten. We are delighted to welcome new pupils. You may remember that our show “Life Before Google” was adjudicated by The British Arts. Well, during half term Mrs Johnson and Miss Louise attended the award ceremony for the finals in London and SSD was awarded not one but TWO first place wins!

We won the Costume award and the Music and Entertainment award!! The judge was still, all these months later, talking about how much fun she had watching the show. Congratulations to all involved!
