With a fresh and revitalised service

I’m super excited to get back to face 2 face coaching!

With a fresh look and fresh ideas, my coaching and your results will be stepping up a gear this year! 🔥

Throughout the last few months I’ve been able to really focus in on my training and fitness!

During this time I’ve lost over 10kg in mainly body fat and increased my muscle mass!

To achieve this all I’ve done is:

- Train 3 times per week ✅

- Increased my daily activity levels ✅

- Improved my diet (not perfected it) ✅

It really is that simple, no silly fad diets, no ridiculous training plans, no super strict diet!

THIS IS WHY WE NEED ACCOUNTABILITY ✅

Accountability to ourselves but also sometimes to someone else!

Whether that comes in the form of a training partner, trainer/coach or family member!

Being held accountable to your training is one of the main reasons those that do succeed in making progress at the gym do so!

Being held accountable to someone will put the pressure on you to complete your sessions, turn up every week and should encourage you to become more consistent with your training!

Seems like a no brainer to me! 🤔

So why not give it a go? 👊

What’s stopping you from starting a fitness journey?

Is it work load?

Is it confidence?

Is it not having any idea where to start?

For one of my clients it was confidence holding them back! The confidence to use any piece of equipment, the confidence to know what to do, to ask for help!

What helped with this?

Having a program laid out for them every week by a personal trainer! Being able to go to the gym each day knowing exactly what to do and when, taking away all the stress of training!

Online programming is the perfect way to solve this! 👍

Allowing you to be flexible with your training, chose the days you train and what time suits you best while also educating you on exercise choice and standard planning progression!

‘Nathan’s online training was so beneficial because it meant that I could do my sessions whenever I wanted too which really suited me’

For my online clients I use an app called TrueCoach! This allows me to set exercises for my clients with detailed descriptions and see their feedback upon completion of their sessions!

Do you struggle with confidence? Do you think the gym is a step too far?

Have you ever thought about joining a gym but not had the confidence? Why was that?

Did you think people would judge you for what you’re doing? Would it be too intimidating for you?

Whatever the reason, it’s completely understandable. However there’s a simple solution! Why not train with a personal trainer?

Someone who is going to support and motivate you all the way and never judge you! Someone that will keep you honest with training and hopefully make you more comfortable in the gym environment!

My goal as a personal trainer is exactly that, to make you more comfortable in the gym environment and hopefully give you more confidence in every day life!

What’s the point in goal setting? …

Why are goals helpful in the fitness industry? And how can they be used effectively?

Goals can be used in a variety of different ways! Short/medium/long term goals are very self explanatory, setting targets for the short term (4 weeks for example), medium term (8 weeks) and long term (12 week)!

These could also be called progression/performance/outcome goals!

Progression goals - smaller goals that you need to achieve to reach performance goals! (I.e. running 3 times each week)

Performance goals - a target to aim for (I.e. running 5km in 20 minutes) these kind of goals are the most commonly used in the fitness industry

Outcome goals - often these are goals used for performance athletes and are targeting results (finishing in the top 10 of a running event)

All these goals are used to reach the next one, maybe this happens indirectly or directly! There are some many more reasons to use goals while doing fitness training of any form but that post would be way too long!

Progress is still progress no matter how fast or slow…

Matt came to me to start the football performance programme and we quickly noticed that his squats needed more attention!

Matt decided to join me for a squat workshop so that we could spend more time working on technique!

The first slide is from Matt’s first session on the football programme when we first noticed some weaknesses in the exercise!

The second slide is from only our second session on my squat workshop and there’s much improvement! We stripped the exercise back to basics by adding the safety bar and box to allow Matt to focus purely on controlling the eccentric movement during his squats!
