BSB RD7 - Cadwell Park
A roller coaster of a track and a roller coaster of a weekend! 🎢
Free Practice - I was really excited to be back riding at Cadwell as it was my most successful round last year. Unfortunately the bike had other ideas… a faulty fuel pump hose halted any plans- I only made it about 5 corners before the bike cut out😔 Thankfully the problem was quickly identified and then resolved thanks to Iain Macleod and Mjm Racing
Qualifying - However during this time the heavens opened🌧️ This benefited me nicely as I enjoy a bit of wet weather riding😁 Despite a few red flags making it hard to get into a rhythm I managed to set a lap time that put me P2 overall before a small off at the final corner stopped any further progress and the organisers brought the session to an end early due to the worsening conditions.
Heat Race - I Started from pole in Heat 2 I knew this would be a hard shift having had no dry track time all weekend. As soon as the lights went out I instantly knew the bike wasn’t quite right, engine bogged down when changing from 1st to 2nd gear, which dropped me back to 3rd. I then had a mega battle with Thomas and Tynan for 3rd. Unfortunately a slight mistake on the final lap dropped me back into 4th😩 Watch the whole race here on my YouTube channel KM36 Racing > https://youtu.be/sXJ7caL0AYE?is=QE4DTwNgM5UNoUJr
Main Race - A few changes overnight made the bike a lot better to ride. After starting 8th I managed to get a better launch off the line and into 6th by end of the back straight. I again had a mega battle with Tynan and Thomas for the full 12 laps and managed to get the better of them as I crossed the line 6th - My best result in a main event to date🙌🏻
Unfortunately myself and the True Heroes Racing team are not attending the next round at Assen so it’s a few weeks off to rest up and be ready to go for the final round at Brands Hatch 16th-18th October where we try and end the season on a high and stay inside the top 10 in the championship🤞🏻
