1. CALORIE DEFICIT
The only way to lose fat is to reduce calories in or increase calories out, it's as simple as that. Start by reducing calories by around 300kcal and tweak as needed.

2. STRENGTH TRAINING
Preserving lean muscle tissue is absolutely crucial when in a fat loss phase. The aim isn't to just weigh less, it's to retain as much muscle as possible and just lose body fat. Aim for at least 2-3 strength focused sessions every week.

3. SLEEP
Sleep is arguably the most important element when it comes to our progress. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep every night as this will help reduce cortisol (stress hormone) which can increase fat retention.

4. PROTEIN
Protein is going to help preserve lean muscle tissue and keep you feeling fuller for longer. It will also increase TEF (Thermic Effect of Food) which is the energy it takes to digest, absorb and metabolise nutrients.

5. N.E.A.T
A majority of the calories you burn on a daily basis will come outside of what you do in the gym. This is low impact activity and will really help increase your total energy expenditure. Increase your current daily steps by 1000 and build slowly from there.
