So its been an exciting couple of weeks. After a 10 month wait I finally got back on court with my mixed partner. At the senior nationals masters 10 months ago Mayfield snapped his Achilles 😩. I couldn’t be more proud of his efforts to get back on court. The smile 😀 was proof of that ! Picture showing winning 🏆 Leicester come back tournament 🥰. I had to watch many friends from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and further a field compete in Thailand as this year I was unable to juggle life commitments to be there. Loved watching from home on live streaming can never turn off ‘coach Carter’ 🤣.

Avalible for one-one sessions, small group coaching or one off tactical sessions and suggested training programs. PM me for avalibility and prices 😊.

I know the older the girls get the more important this becomes. At a younger age still think mixed groups for some activities are important if managed well.

Space to play free from judgement🤸‍♀️

We believe girls-only opportunities are a vital step in breaking down some of the barriers that prevent many women and girls from taking part in sport and physical activity.

Our research shows...
👀 61% of teenage girls feel judged by others while exercising
❌ 65% don’t like being watched while exercising
🏃‍♀️ 19% of girls say not wanting to go alone would prevent them from trying a new sport

These feelings are the result of deep-rooted gender stereotypes: being told sport is for boys, that ‘girly’ girls don’t do sport or that they aren’t as good.

Single-sex teams and sessions matter. They give girls the space to feel understood, supported, and surrounded by people with similar experiences.

Where mixed-sex sport exists, it must work for girls too and not reinforce the stereotypes that cause the gender play gap to worsen.

Our allyship toolkit supports clubs, coaches and teachers to achieve this – from challenging stereotypes to celebrating talents like teamwork and leadership above speed, strength and winning.

Our latest research shows that young disabled people feel less supported to keep their sporting dreams alive than their non-disabled peers.

Disabled girls feel the least supported of all, with their non-disabled peers more likely to say they receive encouragement from parents, coaches and teachers.

Who supports your sporting aspirations?
“Dad” - 44% of disabled girls and 59% of non-disabled girls
“Mum” - 47% of disabled girls and 61% of non-disabled girls
“Friends” - 27% of disabled girls and 33% of non-disabled girls

This research highlights a double disadvantage for disabled girls, who are less likely to aspire to reach the top in sport and less likely to receive the support needed to pursue that dream, both as a result of being a girl and of being disabled.

We must invest in local communities to provide inclusive activity, and to ensure school and community sport is centred on what motivates and supports disabled young people to be active - Because everyone deserves to experience the joy, fulfilment and lifelong benefits of sport.
