Saturday 27th January

Ammanford U13 v Saron U13.
Today’s match saw Ammanford AFC Under 13s Blacks play Saron, a reverse of the opening game of the season that saw us lose; today would see a completely different game.
The boys started the game straight out of the blocks, passing the ball around nicely and making full use of the pitch; our pressure was rewarded with the first goal after 15 mins scored by an inform Ethan, quickly followed by his second two minutes later. On his return Kian made it three and then Ethan scored his second hat-trick in three games on the half hour mark. The defence was looking assured throughout the first half, marshalled by Jac and supported admirably by Deiniol, Cai and our captain Oliver: with some confident handling and a couple of good saves from Noah behind them in goal. Before half time Kian scored his second of the game.
The resumption of the second half saw us mirror the great work from the first, with some great shifts being put in by the midfield, including some great individual performances from Alex and Ajay; Tommy was again proving his versatility playing in both midfield and upfront, and Iestyn and Noah D-W made some impressive runs up and down the channels. Ethan was soon back amongst the goals, as was Kian who also got himself a hat-trick.
Saron continued to plug away, never letting their heads drops and their players should take pride in that, and they were rewarded by scoring from the penalty spot.
Ethan’s goal scoring exploits weren’t over however, scoring again and final goal of fantastic team performance. The team spirit was summed up by two of our long term injured players, Iori and Steff coming out into the cold to support the team, we wish them well on their road to recovery.

After what seemed like months off from paying a competitive fixture due to a combination of poor weather and the Christmas break, Ammanford AFC U13s Blacks returned to winning ways at home against Pontarddulais.

The Blacks started extremely well with two quick fire goals from an in form Ethan, with the Blacks midfield controlling the game well backed up by a strong defence including some assured handling by Noah in goal. The Blacks continued to press and before the half was out the skipper, Oliver added a third before Ethan secured a first half hatrick.

As has been the case far too often this season, the Blacks started the second half slowly and to their credit Pontarddulais took advantage and by midway into the second half they had closed the gap to one goal, after some on the field self-reflection the Blacks upped their game again and goals from Iestyn and Tommy restored our three goal advantage; the opposition continued to plug away though and scored a fourth before full time.

The game was played in a great spirit, backed up by another great refereeing performance from Jac, who continues to go from strength to strength in his maiden season as a qualified referee.

Once again a big thanks to the family and friends who continue to support the players from start to finish.

Saturday 21st October

Llangennech U13 v Ammanford U13 Whites

This morning saw the whites u13 travel to Llangennech.
We started slowly conceding the first goal before Tomos ran onto a through ball by Drew to make the score equal.
The rest of the first half was played with our backs to the wall with llangennech playing good football. They scored 5 quick goals and only some good saves by Lucas prevented it being even more. Tomos scored once again from close range to close the gap just before half time.
The second half saw an upsurge in energy with Samuel controlling the midfield and Oliver Harvey charging down the wing, and both combined well with Ethan Issacs who scored 2 goals to reduce the difference to two goals.
Llangennech scored next before a stunning goal from Samuel from the edge of the box.
Llangennech once again managed to pull three goals clear before Ethan completed his hatrrick on his Ammanford debut.
With Ammanford looking for the goals to draw level, llangennech managed to score a counter attack goal and see out the game.
Player POTM was Ethan Issac whilst the coaches choice was Samuel.

Carmarthen Stars U13 v Ammanford U13’s Blacks

After a break from football last week, it was back to it for the U13’s Blacks today, playing away against Carmarthen Stars.
The game started off pretty even with both teams playing with attacking intent and plenty of strong but fair challenges going in for each side.
The deadlock was eventually broken when following some good work in midfield by Kian, Steff picked up a through ball and managed to bury it in the bottom corner. The Blacks unfortunately lost Noah DW to injury following a fantastic tackle, which left us with just one sub for the rest of the game.
The second half started off similar to the first, bothe teams playing some good football, with plenty of positive intent. Stars eventually pulled it back equal after a mix up in the defence, but the boys didn’t let their heads drop, and following lots of Blacks pressure, Steff forced a mistake in the Stars goalmouth resulting in an own goal.
As the clock ticked by the lack of substitutes was starting to show, but the boys kept working hard, putting in some fantastic tackles and blocks. With full time approaching, Stars thought they had equalised with a shot heading to the top corner, but Noah H in goal pulled off a fantastic full stretch diving save to tip the ball around the post.
All in all a fantastic display from every single player today, with the Player of the Match award going to Caio.

Burry Port v Ammanford U13’s White
Saturday 30th September

After some heavy losses to start the season, the Ammanford Whites U13s team started today's game showing some good football against a good Burry Port team. Lots of positive play but failing to capitalise on forward progress with the ball.
Some fortunate goals for the opposition in the first half saw us losing at the break.

Some even better football in the second half with players showing how much they wanted the ball, competing at any 50/50 balls and putting their defence under a lot of pressure. A superb direct free kick from Cai W to get a goal back; and again a fantastic cross from Cai W into the opposition box, which their defender put in his own net to give us another goal.

The end scoreline didn't reflect a very competitive match from both sides; with a vastly improved performance from the Whites' on previous weeks.
Everyone played well, and we're really impressed with how their performance improved in this game. 👍

Ammanford U13’s Black v Carmarthen Stars
Saturday 30th September

Today was always going to be a tough game against a good Carmarthen Stars side, and so it proved.
Although the teams were evenly matched in the first half, the Stars went into halftime ahead after making the most of their chances.
The second half got off to a flyer for the Blacks, Kian adding to his tally for the season and from that point on we were creating more chances than the opposition. Kian scored a second to continue his fine form, and it got even better when Tomos found himself unmarked and buried a first time shot; just two minutes later Tommy put the ball away to underline a fantastic second half performance from all of the Blacks players. A late penalty to Stars made it a nervy finish, but with the Blacks players throwing themselves in front of the ball, they got their deserved win.

Saturday 23rd September

Ammanford u14s v Carmarthen Stars u14s 5

Great game of football yesterday for the Carmarthenshire Junior League u14 between Ammanford and Carmarthen Stars.
After a nervy start from both teams, Stars took an early lead. Ammanford pulled it back after a great run and finish by Lewis. Ammanford then played the ball around well with confidence but it was stars who went in front from a corner. Ammanford continued to dominate and following a corner Lewis scored his second with a header. Just before the break, Ammanford broke through for Charlie to score again following his hat trick in the week. Stars had the chance to equalise but for great one on save from Ifan.
Half time and it was Ammanford who were ahead.
Second half started and stars came out fast and pulled one back for an equaliser. Ammanford piled the pressure on and a stunning half volley from Theo gave Ammanford the lead again. Ammanford were in control again and had a free kick on the edge of the box that Dylan despatched. Stars pushed to get back into the game and following some great work by Iwan to find Jac who finished with a clean strike.
It wasn’t over then as stars scored late goals to make it a frantic finish. Ammanford claimed the 3 points to sit at the top of the table early in the season.
Great squad performance from everyone and on to next week game. 🟠⚪️⚫️⚽️⚽️🙌🙌
