⚠️ A HARD TRUTH ABOUT SPONSORSHIP ⚠️
Most riders lose sponsorships long before a sponsor drops them.
They lose them through entitlement.
If your first message to a brand is:
“Can I get sponsored?”
You’ve already missed the point.
Sponsors are not looking for people to give free gear to.
They’re looking for people who can represent their brand, create exposure, and add value.
Here’s what kills sponsorship opportunities:
❌ Asking what the sponsor can do for you before showing what you can do for them.
❌ Sending messages with no results, no race history, no social media links, and no effort.
❌ Thinking a few podiums automatically make you sponsor-worthy.
❌ Believing followers are more important than character.
And if you’re lucky enough to get support…
DON’T become the rider who:
❌ Disappears once the package arrives.
❌ Never tags the sponsor.
❌ Never posts content.
❌ Never sends updates.
❌ Only messages when they want more free stuff.
Because that’s exactly how sponsorships end.
The fastest way to lose support isn’t poor results.
It’s being forgettable.
Sponsors can work with riders who have bad weekends.
They can’t work with riders who bring nothing to the table.
The riders who keep sponsorships year after year aren’t always the fastest.
They’re the ones who communicate, promote, support the brand, and act professionally.
If you’re only looking for free gear, you’re not looking for sponsorship.
You’re looking for a discount.
There’s a difference.
