Did you know that if you have a pacemaker, you can include it in your Will to be donated to a dog in need after you pass away?

Although pacemakers cannot be used for another human, they can help dogs with heart problems and potentially save their lives. You can arrange for the pacemaker to be sent to a vet of your choice.

Many pacemakers are simply thrown away, and dogs may die because people do not know about this option. Donating the pacemaker can even save the dog's owner the cost of a new one, which can sometimes make a crucial difference in affording life-saving treatment.

Because of the CIC no longer being active, there is longer insurance in place to cover the
‘Couch to 5k’ sessions.
So sadly there will no longer be any ‘Couch to 5k’ runs.

It is with deep sadness that we advise the CIC will disband on 31 July 2021.

The CIC was formed in 2019 to bring a WFA criteria, full size 3G pitch to Amlwch.

It was essential we found a location that would enable costs to be kept as low as possible.

After exploring many options, the only field available was adjacent to Lon Bach. The owners were more than happy to provide a 50 year lease on very reasonable terms.

Additionally there is an existing clubhouse at Lon Bach, negating the need to build a new one, so cost saving.

Objections from local residents were expected, and control measures proposed. Unfortunately, they were not even fully considered, given the immediate opposition to the Lon Bach site.

As there is no alternative to Lon Bach, we have decided to disband.

The real sadness is that over 200 juniors and over 60 adults, will ultimately end up with only one grass pitch available for all matches, which is not a viable option. It is a loss for the whole of Amlwch, the surrounding communities, and all local Junior and Senior football clubs.

Andrea Taylor 5k Fun Run today. Thank you to everyone who joined in today to run in memory of a lovely lady. Congratulations to Geoff Atherton who won the trophy and the medal winners- David, Jacqui, Simon,Huw, Colin and Edwina. The children who ran their own race and Gareth, Ian and Dan for marshalling. A total of £600 has been raised for Breast Cancer Research.
The CIC have handed the Fun Run baton to Amlwch Arrows, and hope you grow from strength to strength.

**ANDREA TAYLOR FUN RUN POSTPONED TO 26 JUNE**
Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to postpone the Fun Run until 26 June- more time to get fit🙂 Our normal 5k Fun Run is on tomorrow at 9am at Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones- you can walk, jog or run the course.
