As well of scoring an incredible 40 goals for the Ambleside United 1st team last season , Alex received this award from the Westmorland F.A.

Young volunteer of the year - runner up
Alex is a committed volunteer coach of the Ambleside United U9's who gives his time to plan and deliver engaging training sessions , help young players develop their skills while creating a fun , positive and welcoming environment.
Alex is an excellent role model for young volunteers in grassroots football and his dedication to the team highlights the vital role that passionate young people play in sustaining and growing the grassroots game.
He is a fantastic role model for young volunteers.

For the final match of the season the team had to travel to Penrith for an evening k.o.
The match was against league champions Calthwaite. After players working all day no team should then immediately have to travel this distance. The fixture secretary ought to ensure that these matches are played on a Saturday.
No excuses though as we were well beaten by a better team.
The last 15 games has seen the team win 11 , drawn 1 , and lost 3.
Two of these defeats were against champions Calthwaite and the other being Penrith Academy away
Jacko's final goal tally being 40 . League 34 and 6 in cup matches.
A quite remarkable tally of goal with Steve clocking up 13 .
