Welcome to the new LEEDS Gryphons Ice Hockey Club, the first ever at the University of Leeds. LUUIHC is a mixed gender sports club, catering to all abilities and universities in Leeds! The ice rink is a 15 min bus from the city center. Taxi and ride sha

res are normally arranged costing about £2 per person. The training and hockey is looking a little different this season due to COVID-19. The club have lots of safe protocols in place to maximise safety and minimise impact on training potential. We are a member of the British Universities Ice Hockey Association (BUIHA) league. This is the governing body for university ice hockey, regulating our games and providing officials and insurance. The league allows students and staff of any Leeds based institution studying at level 4 or higher (degree level) to be able to join and play. Due to the Leeds United FC game recently being rescheduled to the 1st of May @ Elland Road, 8 pm, we suggest arriving at Planet Ice by 6 pm at the latest, as the road will be closed to traffic from 6:30 pm. The Planet Ice Rink bar will already be open.

We strongly suggest arriving by bus or Uber to reduce cost, and then reach Planet Ice by foot for 6 pm, before buses stop their regular service. For more info, please visit the Leeds United Matchday Guide online.

Parking provided by Leeds United FC will be next to the rink and is £15 CASH ONLY. Please make sure to have that on you before arrival if you plan to drive. Be aware of the expected high traffic.
