🏑 Just Play Hockey is back! 🏑

Looking to return to hockey, try it for the very first time, or just fancy a fun and social Friday morning? Come and join us at Bowdon Hockey Club!

I'm so proud that over the course of this season, nearly 40 individuals have attended our Friday morning "Just Play" hockey sessions. That’s a huge achievement—and a real testament to the spirit and energy of this group. I'd like to thank every single one of you who has come along bringing such spirit and energy that has made this group so special, and particular thanks to those who have helped in any way, both on or off the pitch.

Congratulations to those who have picked up a stick after many years off, or even who have not played before - you are amazing role models to young girls as well as other women playing sport!

Last night we held with a fantastic meal together where we built on new friendships created on the pitch, and celebrated some awards.

A massive congratulations to all those selected to represent England at the WMH European Championships in May 2025.
With 82 trialists registered and a really high level of play, it is certainly a great accomplishment making the final 18 players. 👏👏🍾🍾🙌🙌

Why not come along to our adult JUST PLAY sessions which run every Friday morning during term time? Run by Res Taylor, these are fun, friendly sessions and you can take part on a PAYG basis.

Meet Res - Bowdon Back to Hockey coach and convenor! ❤️🖤

The weekly sessions restart on Friday 9th September 9.15 - 10.45am at the main Bowdon Hockey Club pitch. PAYG £7 per session.

All are welcome, irrespective of experience or time out of the game. We have players of all standards but the thing everyone has in common is a desire to have fun while getting active! 🏑

Why not grab a friend (or more!) and come along to have a go? 🙌 We can lend sticks but recommend you bring shin pads and a gumshield if you can.

We ended our season earlier in July in blazing sunshine with a fantastic lunch to celebrate Coach Res Taylor's [undisclosed age] birthday!

Really looking forward to seeing everyone back on the pitch again, and are keen to see new players join us - so do pass the word and encourage others to follow this page.
