Small groups so that everyone gets some individual attention when needed, whether that is to modify an exercise or to add progression! Not all exercises suit everyone and in my classes you are treated as an individual. My focus is quality movement not quantity, in order to rebalance

and restore functional core strength and stability. Through mindful movement, you can help to relieve your aches and pains, improve your form within your chosen sport or hobby and reduce your risk of injury. I truly believe that everyone would benefit from some pilates in their life to invest in your body for the future, especially golfers, runners, cyclists, swimmers and active agers. It is a myth that you need to be young and flexible to try pilates, instead body control pilates is the start of your journey toward better posture, strength, flexibility and balance. Pilates can be done on a mat, in a chair, in standing and should be tailored to the needs of the individual. My goal is to make pilates more personal and accessible to all. I am passionate about teaching clients to move well, I teach only Pilates and have personally practised the body control pilates method for 16 years, but more importantly i am now sharing and witnessing the benefits it brings to my clients. I am a certified Body Control Pilates teacher and therefore a member of Europe's largest professional pilates organisation. My qualifications include;

Level 3 Mat Pilates
Level 3 Programming Pregnancy and Postnatal Pilates
Level 3 Pilates and Bone Health - Qual to tech clients with osteopenia and osteoporosis
Back4Good BCP teacher on the Backcare register

I have a couple of spaces available in my next block of classes starting week of 8th June.

All abilities welcome as I have space in gentle mat (ideal beginners) and Improvers (ideal if you have some experience) however all of my classes always focus on form and control to ensure deeper core connections and better results.

I teach only Pilates and have been doing so for 14 years as a Body Control Pilates certified teacher. Ive seen fantastic results with clients over the years and learned that not all clients need the same exercises or even approach to exercise for that matter. Pilates should become personal to you to meet your goals. Pilates is most definitely not a one exercise routine fits all kind of method. You absolutely dont need to be skinny or super flexible!!!!

So what is Pilates?! Its about breaking movement down to improve your fundamental joint movement, stability and control but then building with those fundamentals to make you stronger overall. Think of movement fundamentals like the ingredients for a cake. The better the ingredients the more tasty the cake 😊

I’m even more passionate and more excited than ever to be teaching and sharing my experience and the amazing benefits Pilates can bring to everyone through all stages of life. I want to teach real people with real bodies because they want to feel better and not just look better!

Let me explain why I am launching the ‘Introduction to Pilates’ 4 week course…New year will bring new pressure to get moving and set yourself new goals. Many will be thinking about Pilates mat or reformer.

I would like to help those new to the world of Pilates understand that it is a method which is more than just movement, or exercises, or a way to tone up!

Of course movement and exercise is what most of us need more of (do not stop!!!) but they don’t always help us to achieve what Pilates method can…

The fundamentals of Pilates are what make Pilates different and very effective. Not fancy equipment or complicated exercises. Bigger movements arent always better! Pilates should be a mindful balance of movement and stability. You will always see similarities to Pilates exercises in many forms of fitness classes but that doesnt always mean they bring the same benefits. Pilates is a method that focuses on…

It is an understanding and application of the ABC’s that helps clients to achieve all the truly wonderful benefits of Pilates.

Starting with the ABC’s allows time to learn how to

✔️develop better body control through ALIGNMENT. Discover your own body’s strengths and weaknesses and understand why your exercises for improvement may need to be different. Movement and strengthening of well aligned joints can improve joint health, mobility and control which all helps to minimise or rehab injury.

✔️Functionally engage your core through your BREATHING rather than bracing or just using superficial muscles. Bracing the belly and breath holding is not healthy, especially for the pelvic floor. Through better breath control you learn to gain a much deeper more appropriate connection to core muscles with increased confidence that you feel those connections and all at the same time as helping to regulate nervous system.

✔️Combine the the A&B to achieve C. CENTRING is a feeling that you are controlling movements from the centre of your body achieving deep core connections.

We’ve been running Reformer courses for over 25 years and the demand for Reformer classes & Reformer teachers has never been greater than now, with Reformer studios popping up on high streets on a daily basis!

We believe that anyone teaching on the Pilates Reformer must have a solid training base in the Pilates Method, having qualified in Pilates matwork before moving on to Reformer training.
