With the end now in sight for our pilot league we are looking to launch the next one!

We’ve learnt a thing or two from the pilot league and will shake it up to ensure matches are more competitive for all!

We might be slow a bit slow getting on this trend but here we are!

Introducing Steve!
Steve is our resident Padel coach and is taking lessons on a Tuesday evening 6-7pm and a Thursday afternoon 2-3pm.

Steve became obsessed with Padel when he was posted to Madrid 🇪🇸 Surrounded by very talented players and coaches he picked up the game fairly quickly and went on to gain his level 1 coaching badge.

Now back in sunny Alnwick where Padel has finally arrived Steve is offering his expertise to introduce and teach everyone this wonderful game.

Unfortunately we’ve had a couple of groups in at the court that haven’t being behaving as would be expected.

❌ Do not jump over/swing on the net
❌ Do not scream and blast music as loud as you can
❌ Do not whack the ball as hard as you can at your friend or surroundings
❌ Do not purposely hit the padel racquet off the walls, the court or the surroundings

✅ Do wear the wrist strap at all times
✅ Do try and play to the rules of padel as closely as possible
✅ Do look after the equipment and put it back once your session is over
✅ Do respect the facilities, put rubbish in the bin and switch lights/heater off when not in use.

There are cameras recording both inside and outside the building which are monitored regularly. Anyone who keeps behaving disorderly will be asked to leave.

Thank you to the majority of great customers who respect the facilities and leave it spotless when they’re finished!

Thanks for coming down!

Last night, the team headed to Platform Padel for an evening of padel 🎾
Plenty of laughs, some surprisingly competitive rallies, and just the right amount of friendly rivalry.

Should we start a Hackett’s padel league next? 👀

Team socials are something we truly value at here, and it says a lot that our team genuinely enjoys spending time together outside of work.

Fun fact: many moons ago, Hackett’s very first lifting building stood pretty much where Platform Padel is today, a real full-circle moment!

We’ve decided to keep the rackets court side free of charge for the foreseeable future!

We can’t guarantee the condition that the balls will be in every time you play though so it may be worth buying your own set of balls! 🎾
