The new Yonex Muse….. what a racket!!

This racket looks like a shout out to the 1980’s yet with a 2030 playing profile. It feels amazing in the hand and offers a bit of everything for me. I can pop the ball when I need to and shape it with topspin and slice which suits my game more naturally.

This really is a racket you have to try to believe so get one in your hand asap and give it a go.

It’s one week since I had the pleasure of delivering an on-court presentation at the coaches conference.

The title was Training Both Sides of a Tactical Theme

If we want the healthiest training environments then we need to focus on developing both sides of the court at the same time.

Better attackers need better defenders

Stretch that neutral phase so both sides are playing high ‘quality’ tempo with high thresholds.

Better servers need better returners.

In my experience we still see too many juniors taking pleasure in hollow wins on the practice court. Opponent makes a cheap mistake and the winner is happy. They should be disappointed their training partner makes a mistake.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with and the coaches. I hope they took something back to base to try out and make their own.
